HISTORY OF THE SCHOOLS

In 1979, I started my first Aikido club at the University of Essex in Colchester under the name of Kyu Shin Ryu Academy . It was not long before I opened a club at Bramston Sports Centre, Witham, Essex and Ongar School, Ongar, Herts. These were followed by clubs in Maldon and Great Leighs, Essex at which time I changed the name to Essex Budo-Kan. The club trains on Wednesday at Dovedale Sports Centre, Chelmsford, Essex and teaches Aikido & Jujutsu to men, women and children from 7 years upwards.

The Moslin Aiki Dojo came into being three years ago and was founded, at The Kelvedon Institute, in Kelvedon, Essex, in memory of the late Jean-Pierre Dewandre San-Dan, Aikido who was the chief instructor of Musubi Aiki Dojo at the University of Liege, Belgium. The Moslin Aiki Dojo now trains at the Tiptree Sports Centre in Tiptree, Essex on Fridays and Sundays.

Classes are open to anyone from the age of seven and both Aikido and Jujutsu are taught.
