Adventure Learning Camps

Mission

To foster growth and enhance the well-being of children and families through enjoyable, nature-based, active learning experiences. Adventure Learning believes that the foundation of a sustainable society requires children to learn resilience, cooperation, self-confidence, and connection between our everyday lives and the natural world.

Vision

Our communities and the public and private institutions serving families and children recognize the value of and offer a wide variety of experiential, outdoor, nature-based learning experiences. These active learning experiences utilize the natural world as a means for teaching the interconnections between personal, ecological and societal well-being.

Public service providers, educational institutions and community organizations generously fund and regularly incorporate exciting, fun outdoor learning experiences into school curriculum, park and recreation programs, and programs designed to increase children’s physical and psychological well-being. Participation in these programs is continually increasing.

Children and families who participate in these programs are instilled with a greater sense of cooperation and self-esteem, demonstrate enhanced personal responsibility, and approach problem solving with new enthusiasm, knowledge and skills. They understand and demonstrate the value of independence and taking personal responsibility while respecting the interdependence of people and the natural world. Increasing numbers of people are visiting and exploring natural areas as part of their leisure activities.
