Announcement: Contract Agreement for Fire Protection, Emergency Medical and Related Services

On October 13, 2023, the ASCWD Board voted to end the current contract agreement for fire protection, emergency medical and related services. The contract phase-out as outlined in the agreement will take place over a three-year period ending in the year 2026.

The current contract terms essentially date back to 2006 and no longer reflect current conditions. As such, the decision to end the current contract affords the opportunity for the District to provide the community a newly drafted contract that will accurately reflect current practices, clearly define the scope and level of services, and total financial compensation for performing said services. Providing a transparent well documented agreement that reflects our community’s needs and expectations for both districts to manage and work from cohesively is essential in providing this important service to our community.

The District has already started this process and is committed to bringing a new contract to the Board for adoption well before 2026.
