PANIYARAM

It is a dish made by steaming the batter. Traditionally made from pulses and rice using a mould. It is similar to Idly and dosai. Paniyaram can be made sweet or spicy.

Main Ingredients : Rice and Urud dal

Tava needed:


Ingredients :

Pacharisi - 1 cup

Idli rice - 1 cup

Urud dal - 1/2 cup

Vendhayam - 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Preparation :
  • Soak Pacharisi, Idly rice, urud dal and vendhayam in a bowl together.
  • After 4 to 5 hours grind it till smooth
  • Leave it for a day and then make paniyarams
  • You can add chopped onions, chilli, cashew, seasoning, jeera of your choice and pour the batter in the paniyaram pan and cook.
  • Serve it hot with Coconut chutney
