Before the spin-off of Active Alpha, Andres Hefti was Risk Manager at Horizon21 Active Alpha. He was also responsible for investor relations in this role that he held since late 2008. From 2007 to 2008, he was a Portfolio Manager of two insurance-linked securities (ILS) funds with a focus on public and liquid ILS. He joined Horizon21 in 2005 as a Quantitative Analyst for the firm’s global macro and commodity single hedge funds.

Previously, Andres Hefti was with Man Investments (formerly RMF) where he was a Portfolio Manager of a fund of hedge funds dedicated to quantitative equity strategies from 2003 to 2005. During this time, he was also an Investment Analyst for managed futures strategies. He started his career at Man Investments (formerly RMF) in 2001 as a Quantitative Analyst/Financial Engineer responsible for the modeling of structured hedge fund products.

He holds a MSc in Mathematics from the University of Zurich. He is a CFA and CAIA charter-holder and Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
