Dear Students,
We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you of an important announcement regarding ESOS Return to Compliance for face-to-face training. This change will affect you from the term starting on 17 July 2023.
As you may be aware, the Australian government has provided temporary flexibility in regulatory arrangements regarding ESOS course delivery requirements for overseas students during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, this temporary flexibility will end on 30 June 2023.
This means that providers delivering courses to overseas students will be required to return to compliance with face-to-face delivery requirements in the National Code 2018 and the ELICOS Standards 2018 by 30 June 2023, where it is safe and practical to do so. For overseas students, this means a requirement to return to face-to-face learning and training for 15 hours per week in the classroom and 5
hours online study.
We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, especially for students who are currently studying from other states in Australia. If you are in this situation, you must find suitable accommodation in Victoria to be practicable to attend the classes from the July term starting on 17 July 2023. Additionally, you must update your new address in Victoria by 30 June 2023 either via your student portal or by email to lenka@aoi.edu.au.
Please note that we offer a variety of internal and external support services for our students. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact Lenka by phone 0424 159 767, email lenka@aoi.edu.au, or contact the Study Melbourne Hub formerly known as the Study Melbourne Student Centre by phone 1800 056 449 or email info@studymelbourne.vic.gov.au. This hub is a dedicated home in the centre of Melbourne that provides free help and advice to all international students in Victoria. They support students
with a range of enquiries including financial hardship, accommodation, wellbeing and mental health support, employment programs, legal information, and others.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and wish you all the best in your studies.
Kind Regards,
Lenka Menyhartova
