How to Pray for Your Wife

Are you fulfilling your duties as the spiritual leader of your family? Your most basic achievement is to regularly pray for your wife. Here are some practical ways you can pray for your bride.

Dear Heavenly Father, in accordance with your Holy Word, I pray for my wife. I ask that…

  1. …this would be my wife’s testimony: that You Lord have given her eternal life, and this life is in Your Son, Jesus Christ (1 John 5:11-12).
  2.  …my wife will seek you daily with all her heart, praising, worshipping and bringing her petitions and intercessions to You and that she will keep Your laws (Psalms 5:3; 95:6-7; 119:1-2).
  3. …she will grow in maturity of the knowledge of Jesus Christ and walk in His Spirit (Ephesians 3:16-21).
  4. …she will love You with all her heart, soul, mind and strength. That she will also love her neighbor as herself (Mark 12:30-31).
  5. …whatever my wife is called by You to do, she will do it heartily as for You (Colossians 3:23).
  6. …my wife will wait on You, and that You will renew her strength; that she will mount up with wings like eagles, that she will run and not grow weary and that she will walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:31).
  7. …she would exhibit the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control in her life (Galatians 5:22-23).
  8. …my wife will always live with the realization that her Lord is faithful and will establish her and guard her from the evil one; that she will stand firm in Jesus  (Psalm 9:10; 2 Thessalonians 3:3).
  9. …that You will give Your angels charge over her to keep her in all her ways; for protection from any hindrances, that she would trust You and dwell with You (Psalm 91:1-4).
  10. …she would know the power and authority of our Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:9-11).

Don’t just pray for your wife but pray with her. May God bless you as you pray together.

Great blog! Iwill send this out to my contacts. I am truly blessed with a man of God in my life and I do not take that for granted. Some women do not realize the gift that God has placed beside them. Gene and I will be married 20 years next month and we have overcome so much but we know it has never been in our strength but by the grace of God. bless you and may God richly strengthen your walk with him to continue to be the godly man for your wife that he desires.
