2011 Seagrave Rescue-Pumper Enters into Service

On Monday evening, August 8, 2011, the Bedford Hills Fire Department placed the new Engine 199 into service. The engine will be the first due engine in the hydrant district as well as Haz Mat and MVA calls. This new apparatus replaces the 1991 Pierce that served the residents of the Bedford Hills Fire district for over 20 years. This apparatus was declared surplus at the last Board of Fire Commissioner's meeting, and will being placed out for bid within the next week or so. Some of the features of the new Engine 199 include the following:
Marauder II - Stainless Steel Full Tilt Cab
Body Material: Stainless Steel
Engine: Cummins ISM 500
Auxilliary Braking: Telma Focal Retarder
Wheelbase: 193.5"
Seating Capacity: 8
Pump: Waterous 2000 GPM (Two Stage)
Water Tank Capacity: 750 Gallons
Generator: Harrison 20KW
Ligh Tower: Will-Burt Nightscan (9000 Watt)

Units: ENGINE 199
