all he does is sleep in his office and shout at any student who talks to him and loves the japanese way of doing things. Loves Japanese.

  2. Anonymous2 Says:

he really teaches you how to make your point made when the person you are talking to gives a bloody damn about what you think. he teaches you how not to get intimidated by a person whose screaming at you.

  3. Anonymous3 Says:

i dont think he had any vision for IBA, more like deluded into denying the reality that IBA had succumbed to second place and its standard was falling. I have failed to see any “visionary” steps taken by him. he couldnt fix the auditorium for crying out loud. Even the entreprenuership center seems to be lost. IBA has this research wing, i dont think i see anything substantial there either though i heard that the PhD students were working on something.

  4. Anon4 Says:

i dont know why , but somehow when ever he tries to speak in the auditorium he embarasses us.

  5. Anon5 Says:

i think i remember him saying that he didnt know anything about motorcycles yet he was the CEO and similarly, he continued , that he didnt know how to lead in IBA, yet he is the Dean.
i think what he meant was after an MBA you become a jack of all trades and can fit anywhere. i disagree with his statement, even if you are an MBA, kindly work in a feild where you are passionate about it and if you dont knw anything about it, find out. otherwise there are people out there who can do a better job then you, be a better person and step down in favor of those who can do a better job

    All hail Anon6
    🙂

  8. Anon 7 Says:

You guys Anon 1 through 6 are a pathetic bunch of losers who have never amounted to anything and yet like to try and bring others down.

    Get a fucking life!

  9. Anon3 Says:

    @ Anon 7

i was wondering how we are trying to bring anyone down. have you ever met Danishmand, as in have you ever talked to him? The point is not to bring anyone down anon7, the point is to highlight the faults in the system, cause the first step in fixing a problem is identifying it. its nothing personal, just our opinions about him and in some cases observations.

ummm, he’s around for a few days, dont know how many. i suggest you go meet him and talk about something visionary regarding the institute. interact. you ll know.

When you forget to listen, you cant lead people.

  10. Anon5 Says:

welcome to our pathetic life anon 7 😛
    lol

Danishmand has officially left IBA. His tenure lasted six years.

heres something in defence of Danishmand.

“Last couple of weeks I’ve been internally burning at the joke that my compensation at IBA had gone up by Rs. 4 per 50 minute session (increment of .003%).

I raised the issue of giving visiting faculty increase of Rs. 4 (about .003%) with Mr. Danishmand, and heads of HR and Accounts team.

It was a positive surprise to hear back from Mr. D himself. He clarified that brackets were revised, but just not in time for printing of appointment letters. After revision, my increment now stands at a whopping 20%. This is good news for anyone thinking of joining a more professional teaching setup (as opposed to running tuition centres, which really exploit on the weakness of our country’s educational system – and in fact, make it even worse by attracting talented individuals to tuition business instead of exploring university and college teaching.

Just to emphasize – not many visiting faculty is here because of financial reasons. For people like Jawed Edhi (who teaches E-Banking), the income from IBA constitutes probably .25% or less of overall compensation. And it takes significant part of our week and our leisure time. We do it because of mix following reasons:

    1. we are passionate about teaching the new generation about how things work in the industry and linking knowledge with decisions

    2. we genuinely feel we learn a lot ourselves by digging into details of subjects we teach you (like the webvan case study today)

    3. to get social recognition for our effort

    4. give back to the society who has offered us success

    5. passion

Anyways, just wanted to thank the IBA for making it easier for us to continue our passion.

    Farzal”

he may have an impressive work experience but he clearly lacks interpersonal skills… he surely does not know how to talk to his sub ordinates… no wonder he kept on changing jobs… no1 could stand him for long… he duz completely the opposite of what he says… i just hope his replacement is a lot better than the latter

  13. minhaaj Says:

i am amazed at his position at international islamic university. This guy said a hadith was ‘absurd’ infront a hall full of people in Pearl Continental Lahore in January 2007 where i was present. What an unfortunate time is that to see losers like him leading an Islamic Uni.

    • Areeha Says:

well minhaj oyu r right its a very demised point to see such an idiot running Islamic university..”if you get indulge into bad deeds and forget your responsibility people worst than you come to rule you” thats the scene with IIUI

  14. anon Says:

I have had the pleasure of working with prof. Danishmand for a number of years. He is a man of principles and is upright honest. He takes no BS and gives no BS (the reason why people don’t like him). despite his seemingly aggresive nature, he is actually very approachable and a good listener. yes! he will shout at you and take exception to anything that he thinks is not in line with his own point of view but he never discouraged me to speak my mind and did not keep anything in his heart to smite me with later, EVER. This is his greatest quality. Many of the comments against the professor on this forum are based on individual incidents and are no more than egoistic rants. and about minhaaj’s comments, well, there are lots of hadith recorded in the ‘authentic’ books on hadith that are simply absurd, non-scientific and may i add filthy in nature. I suggest you read the entire sahi bukhari before making comments. and btw islamic uni is no more islamic (or unislamic) than any other university in pakistan.

  15. minhaaj ur rehman Says:

the last anonymous should learn from first anonymous in this thread. He is a shame to our nation and education. Thats what all i had to say. i wouldn’t even say how obnoxious you are given your comments about bukhari shareef. its like spitting on the sky kid.

  16. anon Says:

Dear Minhaaj Sb, How is Danishmand a shame to the nation? Do you have any reasons to back your statement or do you just like making random judgemental statements about people without a reason? You should have mentioned that it’s ONLY your PERSONAL opinion about the professor, which (with due respect) i disagree with. I also apologize if I have hurt your religious sentiments but I had to speak the truth. If you force me any more on this issue, I will start posting those absurd hadiths which i dont want to do. That is why I asked you to please read the hadiths yourself.

  17. kiran Says:

  19. Danny Sucks Says:

    Vision???
All I remember about the sucker is seeing him climbing the Admin Department’s stairs at the Main Campus between 10-11 am carrying a plastic bag with the title “Microsoft” packed with papers most of the time. Yes the same place that smelled like a chemistry lab!

During my 2 years stay at the Main Campus, I cannot recall seeing him in the block hosting lecture rooms, even once.

There were other jokers like Rao Nisar and specially the one who had this collection of white shoes and kameez shalwar and hair bonded with oil..yes Mobin Khalili..

I dont know what the place looks like as it has been almost 3 years..but i hope IBA sees of these jokers sooner or later for good..

Objectively speaking …. many a Hadiths , which were collected 120- 200 years after the demise of prophet (mpuh) during an era that was famous for “….getting Hadiths ….” as per wishes of the then ruler….
mind you ” Abbasis had a whole dept of Hadiths “.
Mr Bukhari collected 600,000 and rejected 597500 plus …

so the least I can say is …….many a Hadiths needs revisiting ….. Period.

  26. ann Says:

Finally Danishmand terminated from Islamic university, he did worse there , he fired all PhD Faculty abused students, brought all non PhD’s at leading positions. He is the old friend of ex President Islamic University and ex boy friend of Ex Vice President Parveen Qadir Agha , recently President and Vice President retired from their posts and the new Management terminated him. Thank God

  27. Anaum Says:

he is the best-est teacher i have ever met.

  28. Paul Jones Says:

I find it incredible how all the losers who will never amount to anything try to bring down a great man like Mr. Danishmand – have you bozos read his profile – you and your whole family put together can never achieve what Mr. Danishmand achieved in his career and if you had any brains at all, you would realize that truly intelligent and great people always say they know very little (being modest of course) because there is so much more to learn and losers like you all think you know everything even though you know jack shit … when (if) you ever become CEO for major Companies over and over again, when (if) you ever get selected to be Dean/Director of IBA or LUMS or even better Harvard Business School or Wharton (since you’re so smart) then you can talk about what it takes to lead a Company or a major institution of higher learning … Did you ever ask yourself why you are being shouted at Nikumay? Gadhay? The management style adoped by many successful people like Mr. Danishmand is simple … dont’ talk crap .. deliver results .. those that deliver get praised and those that don’t get the KITA management style treatment ie Kick In The Ass, which is a legitimate management style adopted by Donald Trump, Jack Welch and others … FYI, the reason why he is hard on you is that real life … work life … is unforgiving … few errors are accepted … you have to be innovative … you have to be strong and resilient, you have to be creative and productive … if you think someone is going to hold your hand and sing sweet nothings to you while you screw away your life … you are in for a serious wake-up call … after reading all these comments, it is very clear to me that it is the bottom 10 – 20% of the class who should never have been admitted to IBA in the first place that are being negative … losers who couldn’t get a good job … or don’t have any real prospects … so sad … my suggestion … look at yourself in the mirror and see if you actually like yourself .. if not, suggest you climb to the top of Habib Bank and jump off head first … Mr. Zahid Hussain … how big of a pathetic loser are you – IQ 92??? You forgot to give everyone your phone number and address … I dare you to post it … you chicken shit …

If you are wondering how I know Mr. Danishmand, I met him at Stanford Business School … a place none of you clowns will even end up … live with that …

  29. Syed Babar Ali Says:

The main reason I am not a permanent faculty member at IBA is Danishmand. Here, I just cant discuss the beauty of the political environment IBA was unfortunate to face during his tenure. But let you know that I was not preferred at the time where there were not any good teachers at IBA teaching the courses that I teach; by the way, I think this view is still valid.

  30. Asim Rehman Says:

I may have a few words too. I was neither a student at IBA,or the Islamic University nor a faculty member at IBA.
I had a very long association with Mr Danishmand, i.e. 11 long years in a private organisation, of which he was the CEO. The start of our relationship was very bitter, and a very initial stage did I conclude that we would not be able to carry on mutually, and that I had to look for greener pastures. The reason being that he was new to our Organisation and in the process of getting to know people. So one, not very fine morning he started an argument with me and was quite rude and stubborn in presence of my staff. Within minutes I decided to leave that day as things could be more worse. At end of the day,
I went to his room and explained the days completed tasks to him and told him I was leaving because of his attitude and rude behavior.
To my utter surprise, he got up, held my arm and took me out on the floor, and called every closer. He then apologized to me and assured that this would not happen again. I was totally speechless for quite a few moments and by the time I got back to my senses, he was back to his seat. This was DANISHMAND.
From then on, he showed his utter confidence in me and my assignments at higher levels in the Government and the Forces.Never did he ever had any disagreements with me and always praised me for my achievements till he finally left the Organisation. I know I spent lot of time with him in arranging press briefings, seminars, dealer conferences, meetings with Government officials and high-ups.
Let me also make it clear that not all of us are saints. He also was one among us who made errors, blunders, showed his attitude at times, like someone quoted his experience of having made a mistake to invite him as a speaker to a forum and then he would make you and all others feel embarrassed. However, I may not be able to put all my experiences of those 11 long years working with him, but still I would say he was most polite, loving, caring, honest, devoted person despite what my friends have been narrating out of their own personal experiences with him.
I am now retired and spending my days traveling abroad and spending time with my grandchildren, but candidly I have all the respect for Mr Danishmand.
