Could you please tell me the name of the very “ropey looking cable” that is just to the right of the black net in the picture at the top of this page? I’d like to find directions for doing that one. Thanks!

That is a cable…or rope cable. There are different sizes and tightnesses to those patterns. Here is a couple of tutorials.
