Dewey Kruger Music was established November 1, 1981 in Northwood Iowa by Duane L. “Dewey” Kruger. The business has steadily grown since that time. The store carries a full line of keyboard instruments including kawai acoustic and digital pianos, Young Change pianos, Kurzweil and Roland Digital keyboards and is the exclusive area representative for the prestigious Rodgers Instruments, in Hillsboro Oregon.
Before opening his business in 1981, Dewey was the Keyboard Manager at Carlton Stewart Music in Mason City, Iowa beginning in January of 1966. In January 1968, Dewey was responsible for the introduction of the world class Kawai piano line into this area. He then secured the dealership franchise with Rodgers Instruments in 1975 bringing the world reknowned Rodgers Classical Organ into the area. Mr. Kruger is a talented musician and businessman and is greatly respected by the entire area community.
Marlene Schroeder joined the staff of Dewey Kruger Music in January of 1995 as the Rodgers Organ Consultant for the company. Marlene is responsible for the development of the Rodgers Organ installations and training of the musicians for the churches we serve. Marlene has studied organ since the age of 13 and was the Institutional Sales Manager and Rodgers Instruments representative at Wells Music in Denver Colorado for several years. Marlene is currently the organists at First Presbyterian Church in Mason City Iowa and is privileged to be playing a Rodgers Trillium Masterpiece custom four manual organ.
