Fear and Fighting

Posted by admin

Coach Bill and I have just returned from three back to back coaching gigs at training camps for some awesome fighters.  We made our way to CA to NY and finally TX, and racked up some sweet frequent flyer miles.

Anyway, we’ve had little time to do anything else, and have been lame about posting on this blog.

That’s about to change, starting now.

One thing that I’ve learned from working with over 1,000 fighters from many disciplines (including those in several Halls of Fame), is that almost every fighter deals with some level of fear before some fights.

Sure you can say you are a bad-ass, and never feel any fear, but we just don’t believe you.

Unless you are totally fuckin’ nuts, some of those guys don’t feel fear, it’s true.

But their fighting careers are usually short lived, because they end up in prison, or dead in some back alley.

Assuming that’s not you, here’s our take on fear…

We have noticed that fighters describe many similar feelings and physical sensations between a state of being “pumped up” or excited, and feeling fear.

This is important to understand, as there often is a fine line between your optimal state and a fear state.

And just like Renegade Johnny Cash…

You want to Walk The Line.

So how do you do that?

We teach our fighters several different techniques to ensure that they are in the peak mental/emotional state going into battle, and that their bodies and minds recognize the strong emotions as positive, and not register them as fear.

One of the most powerful methods is called Anchoring.

This is a way to link up your optimal mental states with unique physical actions.

Sounds wierd, we know.

But with a little practice, you will be able to anchor an action (like tapping your left shoulder, for example), to the state of ultimate confidence.  Then you will be able to activate it at any time and FEEL CONFIDENT.

Are you getting the idea of just how valuable this will be to you as a fighter?

I’ve got a video for you showing you how to do it.

Check it out – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcztx3yEoQU

In our next blog post we’ll show you another technique for clearing out ANY negative emotion in minutes.

What the hell is Hypnosis, and how can it help me be a better fighter?

That’s a good question – here’s the answer, and a sample of how
easy it is to use.

If you’ve never been formally hypnotized, then you must experience
hypnosis on purpose so you can really recognize what a trance feels
like.

Now, don’t get tied up with the word trance.  A trance is simply an
“altered state”.

What’s an “altered state”?

When I use the word “state”, I am referring to your “emotional
state”.

STATE = EMOTIONAL STATE

So, a trance occurs when you change from whatever emotion you are
currently experiencing to a different emotion.  For example… When
someone tells you a joke to cheer you up, and you laugh; you have
switched from one emotional state to another.  In this case, you
went from being in a state of feeling “down” to a state of
“laughter”.  The state of “laughter” would be your trance, because
it’s your altered state.

In the case of the Renegade Fighter hypnosis audio sessions, I help
you get relaxed.  So, as you listen to the program, you are
switching from whatever state you are in to a state of
relaxation.

Relaxation is the trance in this situation.

When you enter a trance (that changes from one emotional state to
another), that process is hypnosis.  Whenever this happens, you
become more “suggestible”.

“Suggestible” means that you tend to accept and follow commands and
ideas with little or no resistance.

That is what these sessions are about.

I know, I know… It’s different than what you see on television or
in the movies; but this is all a trance is.  It has nothing to do
with rituals, magic, or any other kind of esoteric bullshit.

When experiencing formal hypnosis for the first time, most people
tell me, “It just feels like I was sitting there listening to you
talk.  I don’t feel any differently.”

That’s great, because I want you to feel as if every idea that I
talk about is coming from inside you; and everything is perfectly
natural.

In reality, I’m helping you to direct your thoughts
and ultimately influence your behavior, to become the best fighter
possible.

It really is the easiest way in the world to help you become a more
kick-ass fighter.

All you have to do is listen to the audio sessions for about 20
minutes a day.

We’ve put together a shorter sample session for you below, so be sure
to check it out.  This one is only a short 10 minute session dealing
with change and possibilities.  It doesn’t deal specifically with
combat sports, like our Renegade Fighter sessions do, but I just
wanted to give you a feeling of how simple and easy it is to use
hypnosis to make dramatic changes in your life and in the ring.

MMA Training for Your Brain

Posted by admin

The vast majority of MMA training is for the physical body – strength,
endurance, skill development, etc.  These are no doubt vitally important.

But don’t forget your mental game when it comes to your MMA training!

This short article will show you how to use a whacked out trick
called CNS Crazy Eyes to overcome fatigue or pain almost instantly.

This technique can be used between rounds.  It requires some
pre-fight practice.  The first time that you use it, it will take
approximately five to ten minutes.  Once you’ve learned how to do
it, it will only take a few seconds at most.

CNS Crazy Eyes actually rewires the Central Nervous System
(CNS).  Once you learn and experience this technique, it is
permanently wired; and it will get stronger the more you use it.

1.  Identify a challenge that you’re experiencing.  For example,
“I’m tired”, “I think my rib is broken”, or any other physical
feeling that is taking away your focus.  Acknowledge the location
of that feeling in your body as well as imagine what it would look
like of you could actually see it.  Concentrate on that for a
moment until you can recall it quickly.

2.  Stop doing step 1.  Now, stare up between your eyes at a
45-degree angle until your eyes defocus.  NOTE: The eyes MUST
defocus during this step.  The first time you do this, it may take
two to three minutes or longer.

3.  Stop doing steps 1 and 2 for a few seconds.

4. Now, do steps 1 and 2 (the physical focus and weird eye
position with de-focus) while holding both arms straight out to
each side and stretched as far back as you can get them.  Now,
slowly bring your arms forward and wiggle your fingers until your
can see both your right and your left fingers in your peripheral
vision… all this is done while you continue to do steps 1 and 2.

Upon completing these steps, you have just rewired your brain.  If
you were dealing with fatigue, you will find that the fatigue is
gone.  If you were in pain, it will likely be reduced.

After a short time practicing the CNS Crazy Eyes, you will be able
to complete it in just a few seconds between rounds.

We know it sounds crazy – that’s why we named it Crazy Eyes!

Work with it for a while and you will have a weapon that few other
fighters possess.

Are you interested in learning martial arts?  Wouldn’t it be great if you could train your mind to learn martial arts faster and in a more effective fashion?  Do you think that’s not possible?  Well… read on to find out how you can program your mind to be a better fighter!Neuro Linguistic Programming

Scientists have discovered a kind of programming of the mind termed ‘Neuro Linguistic Programming’ or NLP that has modernized all human functioning enhancements radically. NLP is targeted at observing an expert from any field, identifying, and separating the average from the extraordinary.

The Fundamentals

The basic model of the NLP is taken from any skilled professional of any field. The expert could be a dentist, a lawyer, a sportsman, surfer, or in any area. The modeler studies with precision every aspect of this expert. That includes his or her values, ethics, behavior, habits, etc. The modeler then imitates the expert. Once the modeler becomes adept at this, the person begins to reduce his activity. He discards anything that has no significant effect on his functioning and brings it down to a level where he only needs to work at core techniques that help him gain expertise.

The success of the modeling NLP depends on whether he has been able to train someone else in the technique successfully. If the results are the same, the experiment is a success.

How NLP Can Help Martial Arts

We all know how hard it is to train to become a black belt. One has to train for years and years. It is not just a long process but also an extremely laborious and challenging task. That is what makes it worth it.

NLP puts you on the race faster, giving a better platform to meet this challenge. It will enhance your capabilities and increase your tenacity. In short, it will program you to build your mettle.

The modeling NLP does not claim to make you a genius. Metaphorically speaking it programs your genes to be one. What it does is documents the brain’s knowledge and transfers it by imitating and training. The modelers own capabilities are also an important factor, which grows and develops with more experience.

Martial Arts fuse attack and defense into the same mechanism. When you can do that, your performance is perfect and your mind is clear. Your every move looks pre synchronized as onlookers watch you fight your opponent. Every action is precisely timed and perfectly executed. If you have heard about the ancient masters, you will know how unperturbed their state of mind was even at the most tense moments.

Building the ‘Second You’

It is possible to build on one’s sub consciousness using hypnotherapy. Many experts use hypnosis for all sorts of things but building on one’s neural connections is really what makes you the smart student in martial arts. It is difficult to unlearn things that become part of your sub conscious and muscle memory.

You train both your mind and your body until your every move becomes of secondary nature. Hypnosis can help with teaching your subconscious. It is all a matter of practice that takes you to the art level of martial arts.

The Zone – it is the Holy Grail of the MMA mental game… the elusive mind/body
state in which everything comes together.Fighters describing the experience of being “in the zone” usually
sound like this:

“Everything felt right”

“My punches were so fluid”

“I knew exactly what to do”

Etc, Etc.

Ah yes…all fighters have had this experience. Some for only a
moment or two, some for fight or even a string of fights.

But what is the Zone, anyway?

How do we get there and STAY there?

There are certainly plenty of theories thrown by PhDs in sports
psychology as to the exact biochemical happenings in the brain and
nervous system during “zone time”.

They even hook athletes up with electrodes and monitor a shitload
of information and biofeedback data. This is all done to assist these
athletes in their quest for the Holy Grail…the Zone.

They just don’t get combat sports psychology, and the MMA mental game.

Although it would be kind to assume that these Ivory Tower
theorists have the best intentions, my gut tells me that it is
usually more a case of “intellectual masturbation”.

Regardless, the whole thing really reminds me of Monty Python and
The Holy Grail.

In other words, a fruitless endeavor doomed to failure because it
is based on inane premises and therefore produces deluded
conclusions.

However, it does provide a decent amount of comic relief, at least
for me.

OK, so maybe I’m exaggerating (but just a little bit).

The quest to somehow evoke the Zone state and maintain it is
misguided by most people because it is seen as a foreign
destination – a state of being outside of the golfer’s natural
mind/body state.

Here’s the big news …drum roll please…the Zone is your natural
state of being.

That’s right – the Zone is NOT a state of being that you have to
“get into” and then hope and pray that you stay there.

Rather, the Zone is your true state of mental and physical being.

It is the place to which you return when you are finally able to
eliminate and clear the specific impediments to your natural
freedom state.

These impediments include (but are not limited to):

Self doubt
Fear
Tension
Comfort Zones
Anger
Etc., etc.

The important point is that these issues keep you from LIVING in
the zone, both inside the ring/cage and out.

The key is to “clear” or “eliminate” these issues… and then…
POW!…you are in the Zone.

This is the key to mastering your MMA mental game.

After a relatively short period of time, the Zone will start to
feel normal, because it is indeed your natural state of being.

Renegade Fighter Mindset Techniques are designed to clear these
issues that keep you from being in the Zone, and from racking up the
victories you deserve.

Our Renegade Fighter program is not the only way to clear your
issues. It just happens to be extremely fast, simple to learn, and
is specific to combat sports.

No electrodes or biofeedback devices required.

Are YOU ready to LIVE in the ZONE?

Forget about the quest for the Holy Grail. Leave that to Knights
who say “NI” (and the PhDs).

Coach Bill

While traveling the U.S. in the late ‘80s, Bill Gladwell met a hypnotist whose skills captivated him. He made the decision to learn everything he could about hypnosis.

He immediately began taking classes, attending seminars, and Bill soon became a master hypnotist.

Bill went on tour… this time as a very successful stage hypnotist.

One evening, a professional martial artist was sitting in the crowd. He approached Bill after the show to explain that he had come in second for the past five years in a competition in Hungary. He wanted to know if Bill could help him move to number one.

Bill took this martial artist on as a client, and he placed first at the competition in Hungary… one month later. This was Bill’s start in the sports world.

Over the next several years, Bill continued his study of human psychology and behavior, covert hypnosis, and social dynamics… specifically how these fields relate to sports.

Pulling the most powerful common elements from each field and combining them with his skills as a master hypnotist, Bill developed one of the most powerful forms of influence in sports… influence over yourself as an athlete.

Today, Bill coaches some of the most successful amateur and professional athletes in the world.

 Coach Stephen

After twice having his MA dissertation topics denied (stated reason – “subject matter is disturbing and not in accordance with the ethics standards of this institution”), and being kicked out of his residency at a Zen monastery in Japan (rough translation of stated reason – “does not play well with others”), it became obvious to Stephen that the only way to obtain the psychological skills (aka weapons) he desired was to

1) temporarily behave well and study under many mainstream organizations, such as NLP, Hypnosis, and Energy Psychology and

2) find underground mind control experts who would pass on their secret tools (not easy or cheap, by the way).

Although he has studied under many well known instructors and organizations, Stephen has chosen NOT to formally join any of them. This allows him to act outside of their pretentious code of ethics, and deliver these tools to fighters who have the balls to use them, and prosper accordingly.

Together, Bill and Stephen have formed Renegade Mindset for Sports, LLC, a company dedicated to thinning the herds of wannabe athletes worldwide.

It’s eat or be eaten. They invite you to pull up a chair and grab a knife – it’s time to feast upon the weak!
