History of Fred Beans Automotive Group

Fred Beans entered the automotive industry in 1959 with the purchase of a service station in Yardley, Pennsylvania. He was 21 and needed his mother to cosign the loan. From that service station, Fred rented and leased vehicles - his introduction into automotive sales and a precursor of his future success. He ventured into dealerships with a handshake in 1972 that made him a 25% partner in Bill Marsh Ford in Newtown.

Today, that same dealership is one of 27 bearing his name. The growth of the Fred Beans Automotive Group has also meant diversifying our operations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey markets to currently encompass:

In 2023, Beth Beans Gilbert, Fred's daughter and the current vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group, received the Barbara Cox Woman of the Year Award.

In 2023, the Fred Beans Automotive Group was named (for the fifth year in a row) among the Best Places to Work in the Greater Philadelphia Region from the Philadelphia Business Journal.

In 2022, Fred Beans was inducted into the Ford Hall of Fame, earning himself and the Fred Beans Automotive Group Ford's "Top Volume Dealer Hall of Fame" award.

Fred Beans works closely with his daughter, Beth, and son-in-law, Chris, to ensure the family's values influence both big-picture and day-to-day operations, especially customer interactions.
