Nokia-C3-01 | Best Mobile Contracts

We’ve just got our hands on a huge industry roadmap charting the biggest phone releases in the coming months. With some much anticipated phones by Nokia, Samsung, BlackBerry and HTC, among others, we are now able to reveal to you when we can expect to see these handsets in store.

The roadmap reveals approximate release dates for big upcoming models in the phone industry, such as HTC’s Touch HD3, and the Nokia E7, as well as some very welcomed alternative versions of phones already on sale. Some of these phones are still being held tightly under wraps and as such there is not a great deal of information to divulge aside from the few juicy titbits that have been leaked by industry insiders. Nonetheless we can now reveal to you some of the more high profile handsets up for release in the coming months. Let’s take a look:

October

October will see the release of the HTC Desire HD. The original Desire (which was the basis for Google‘s ill-fated and under-promoted Nexus One) was a huge success this summer, being one of the biggest selling smartphones on the market. Like many phone manufacturers HTC is hoping to extend the popularity even further and is introducing a larger screened version of the popular touchscreen phone. With a 4.3″ touchscreen, 1GHz processor, 8-mp camera and HD video recording the Desire HD looks to be a winner for all multimedia enthusiasts out there.

HTC will also be introducing another version of the Desire, dubbed the ‘Desire Z‘ at around the same time. The two handsets had been spotted on the internet previously under the names ‘Ace’ and ‘Vision’. At this stage there is relatively scant information regarding the Desire Z, but as it bel+ongs to the Desire brand we are fairly confident this will be a very impressive handset. Both new Desire handsets should be set for release at the beginning of October, provided all goes to plan.

October will also see the release of the BlackBerry 9780, a typical BlackBerry device that seemingly takes inspiration from the highly popular Bold 9700. The BlackBerry 9780 will feature many improvements on the Bold 9700 including a better camera and improved software features, particularly the new and updated BlackBerry OS 6. The BlackBerry 9780 is also known by the name Onyx II in some circles.

From Motorola we can expect to see the Jordan, among other phones. There is little information on this handset at present aside from the knowledge that it will be running on Google Android and should be a welcomed addition to Motorola’s increasingly impressive range of touchscreen handsets. While Motorola went through a low patch a few years ago its recent releases are showing promise and should see the American company, which has been involved in the industry since the early days of 70′s brick phones, propelled back to the top of the market.

The current market leader Nokia also has an ace up its sleeve in the form of the 5228. This entertainment touchscreen follows a similar design to many of Nokia’s previously released handsets and should possess an instant familiarity to all Nokia lovers out there. The 5228 promises to bring a range of plucky entertainment features at a more affordable price than is currently on offer.

Other phones tipped for release in October include the BlackBerry Torch, as well as new editions to existing phones, such as the HTC Desire White, Wildfire Grey, and pink and black versions of the tremendous LG Cookie Lite.

November

November will see the release of yet more handsets from Chinese manufacturer HTC, who seem to have no end to the number of handsets hidden up their sleeves. This month will see the unleashing of the HTC Gold and the HTC Touch HD3.

The HTC Gold will be a Windows Phone 7 device, which should mark it out as a phone of interest owing to HTC’s recent love affair with Android. This is all the information that is available on this phone at present, but due to HTC’s track record with phones running MS operating systems  we can expect this to be a very well crafted handset.

The Touch HD3 will also run the new Windows Phone 7 and follow on from the popular Touch HD2, a phone that was hugely popular no doubt largely in part to its huge 4.3″ screen (unheard of at the time). The HD3 will again introduce something new to the market with its 1.5GHz processor. Also on board will be an 8-mp camera, 4.5″ screen, HD video recording, WiMax and Wi-Fi.

Another Windows Phone 7 handset set for release in November is the Samsung Cetus i8700. Its Windows Phone 7 status is as yet unconfirmed with some rumours claiming it to run on Samsung’s own Bada OS, and yet others still touting it as an Android handset.

From Nokia we can expect a number of handsets in November, including the C7-00, C6-01 and X3-02.  The C7-00 will be Nokia’s second Symbian ^3 handset with a 3.3″ capacitive screen, 8 mp camera and HD video support. The C7-00 looks set to have much in common with its more high profile cousin the N8. The C6-01 will also feature an impressive 8 mp camera and a sliding QWERTY keyboard design. The C6-01 will run on Symbian S60 and feature at slightly smaller screen than the C7-00 at 3.2″.

Other phones tipped for November release include the Sony Ericsson Teacake Yendo, Nokia C3-00 Champagne, LG Seine and the OT-710 and OT-301 from Alcatel.

December

While December may seem a long way away to some of us we still have a glimpse of some of the handsets due for release at the end of 2010. Three more Nokia phones are set for release just in time for Christmas, including the C3-01, C1-01 and the much talked about Nokia E7.

The E7 is aimed at professionals with a BlackBerry style design and rich in email and messaging features. With a full frontal QWERTY keypad the E7 will be ideal for those of us who are constantly tapping away on our phones. Rich in connectivity options as well as with plenty of entertainment on board the E7 is sure to be a big hit this winter.

It goes without saying that there is less information about phone releases as we look further into the future, as these dates are subject to change and many phone companies are still keeping their lips sealed about many of their upcoming phones. Because of this we are sure there will be many more fantastic phones to look forward to in December than we are able to mention here.
