A self-motivated Forensic Examiner with 5 years of field experience, I enjoy building on my 24 years of computer experience and knowledge. I find myself comfortable in both team as well as independent working environments and appreciate the opportunity to work as a team lead. I actively seek experience with new software, experimenting with hardware, and learning new programming languages/software to extend my knowledge-base and expand my current toolkit.


I have a strong development background specializing in Cross Platform Rapid Application Development and Database Design and Management for both internal use, and consumer applications. From creating customized hardware/software solutions, internal tools and automating processes to client specific applications and large scale databases I have consistently optimized existing processes and enhanced existing products while introducing new revenue streams and services.

Nevada Department of Transportation
- Litigation Services & Technologies

  • Assisted client to perform initial interviews and identify potentially responsive data sources in their first case requiring eDiscovery.

  • Performed a large scale forensic acquisition extending to multiple office locations including desktops, laptops and live acquisitions of servers. Server acquisitions utilized EnCase Forensics to preview, perform keyword searching and filtering on site to only acquire responsive Files/Folders. Desktop and laptop acquisitions were performed with a highly customized LiNen software/hardware configuration allowing all acquisitions to be completed quickly and efficiently without additional examiners.

  • Analyzed and restructured initially provided keywords by coordinating with the client to reduce search from 3,300,000 hits across 1.5TB of data to approximately 35,000 relevant files.

  • Production of responsive data using Ipro eDiscovery to create various load-file formats with both tiff and native file formats for additional attorney review.

Southwest 1031 Exchange Receivers - Litigation Services & Technologies

  • Configured a custom-built server and worker machines to perform forensic acquisitions of 3.5TB including 15 desktops, 3 servers and voice-mail system.

  • Successfully recovered servers RAID arrays once a separate party damaged the working copies of the server hard drives so that the Forensic CPA’s could complete their investigation.

Trump Towers, Las Vegas - Litigation Services & Technologies

  • Performed forensically sound acquisitions of all sales computers including desktops and servers totaling over 2TB of data.

  • Completed an internet based examination performed on the clients’ website and provided a report resulting in a successful rebuttal to a spoliation request by Opposing Council.

Transcript production automation - Litigation Services & Technologies

  • Created a new MS SQL Database and user front-end that interfaced with closed 3rd party MS SQL Databases. Analyzed, automated and re-structured transcript production processes reducing employee man-hours per transcript by 85%, introducing additional deliverables and adding quality control measures.

  • Standardized print layout, automated printing/assembly, CD compilation/duplication, download link generation and created a PHP web download script for electronic delivery of transcripts and exhibits via email.

Web Based and cross platform exhibit access - Litigation Services & Technologies

  • Developed a PHP and MySQL driven Web portal to allow access to case exhibits while connected to our internal network specifically designed and tested to be compatible with all major web browsers and mobile devices including iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

  • Provided the company with a competitive edge by building custom applications and an intranet website to allow clients direct access to transcript exhibits on CD, or from their own devices while connected to the companies’ intranet.

  • Developed techniques to directly integrate with a protected, pre-existing 3rd party MS SQL database to automatically create cross platform CD/DVDs (Windows, OSX and Linux).

Mortgage document imaging/tracking database - Sourcing Point Solutions

  • Designed and created a barcode driven Microsoft Access database to track all imaging jobs and physical location at a folder level for immediate recovery at the clients’ request.

  • Created statistical reporting modules allowing the management team to efficiently manage their staff and developed custom processing software including image cropping and correction, greatly increasing throughput.

Microfilm and custom imaging work for Department of Defense subcontractor - Sourcing Point

  • Managed a 1.8 million page on-site imaging project while developing custom image conversion and load-file applications to provide the customer with highly customized deliver-ables.

  • Later modified the software and processes to include Microfilm conversion and additional automated image processing including gray-scale auto-cleanup, cropping, OCR and histogram image correction allowing the project to be completed 3 months ahead of schedule and well under budget.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE


Litigation Services & Technologies, NV

Forensic Examiner 1/2008 - Present

  • Founded a Computer Forensics department expanding the company’s portfolio to include forensic acquisitions, analysis, expert witness testimony, data recovery, eDiscovery services, ESI production and native review management.

  • Created custom processes and maximized available resources by leveraging Linux and virtualization technology to create a highly scalable forensics lab while promoting forensic best practices.

  • Developed a customized hardware/software implementation of Guidance Software’s LiNen application, drastically increasing the speed of acquisitions while reducing acquisition cost.

Research & Development 5/2007 – Present

  • Managed multiple MS SQL 2005-2008 servers in local and remote offices, created new databases, integrated with closed 3rd party databases, performed routine maintenance, backup and optimization.

  • Migrated all critical servers including MS SQL to virtual servers utilizing Database Mirroring in High Availability Mode to achieve end user down time of less than 5 minutes.

  • Researched, installed and configured enterprise-wide MySQL based email archival system integrating with Exchange 2003-2010, and help-desk ticketing/knowledge base applications.

  • Supported management with customized MS SQL reports and tools for revenue tracking, employee performance statistics and commission calculation. Performed all design and development of In-house and client facing applications and databases including cross platform and web based programs.

  • Analyzed production processes in all company departments, designed, developed and implemented new applications and process improvements throughout the company to increase throughput and quality control.

  • Developed an in-house customer service database and phone usage analysis software for the sales floor by analyzing Mitel raw output data.

  • Managed the technical support team providing assistance with application and HIPAA Compliancy issues to over 13,000 customers.
