History Tom Kavanagh & Associates was originally formed in Memphis in 1970 when Tom Kavanagh left the direct employment of Chicago Rivet & Machine to become their independent representative in the South (MANA territory 20). Jack Hattan joined the agency in 1972 and added an office in Little Rock, AR. In 1986, Bob Hoerres came on board and began working out of the Memphis office. An expansion of the Tennessee territory brought on the need for a new office in Nashville, and Mark Hattan began working from there in 1991. Jack bought out the agency upon Tom's retirement in 1998. Mark Hattan took over as president in 2003 and continues in that capacity today.
Territory currently covered includes: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana
Tom Kavanagh & Associates is a member of MANA, the Manufacturers' Agents National Association. MANA’s mission is, through a major emphasis on education, to aid in the development and promotion of mutually profitable relationships, ethical standards of behavior and interdependence among multi-line professional sales representatives, their principals and their joint customers.
