Kevin M. Kerr is a 1981 graduate of the Bates College of Law at the University of Houston.  Upon graduation, he joined Coke & Coke in Dallas, Texas where he began as an associate in the banking section.  In 1983, he joined Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer, & Feld, focusing on real estate acquisitions and finance.  Kevin served as general counsel for a real estate development and syndication company.  Later, he joined Gardere & Wynne in Dallas, Texas in the banking section.

In 1989, he opened his own law practice focusing on building long-term relationships with clients, based on trust and prompt, competent legal services.

Kevin has established a reputation as an accomplished speaker and author.  He has written many articles for real estate related topics, some are included in the published Articles section. He has also spoken at the State Bar of Texas Advanced Real Estate Law Courses and the Advanced Real Estate Drafting Courses, the University of Texas Law School’s Mortgage Lending Institute and the Leasing Institute,  the University of Houston Law Center’s Advanced Real Estate Law Course, and Southern Methodist University School of Law.

Kevin believes in serving in the community.  He has served in the following capacities:

  • Member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, City of Allen, Texas. 
  • Board of Trustees, Allen Independent School District.
  • Rotary International [Allen Sunrise], serving as President.
