Markets in Louth

Louth is chiefly a market town. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays the centre livens up as the Cornmarket is taken over by market stalls from 10am to 4pm. It features plants, crafts, food and drink, and clothes stalls, amongst other items. But that's not all.

There are occasionally other special markets, such as farmers' markets or event markets, again in the Cornmarket but sometimes extending along Mercer Row and part of Eastgate. These can be Christmas markets or celebration markets organised by local groups, and they often fall on a Sunday. These infrequent events do not take place to a regular schedule, and will be advertised separately. Often they double as a fair and public concert, featuring local craft and charity stalls that don't appear at any other time.

Louth has an indoor market every weekday and Saturday, with entrances from New Street and the Cornmarket.

The Louth Livestock Market, also known as the Cattle Market, operates on Thursdays and is located on London Road, with another entrance off Linden Walk. It is operated by Masons Chartered Surveyors on a site owned by East Lindsey District Council, and is the last remaining livestock market in Lincolnshire.
