Don’t have time for a full degree program in web design?
This fast-track program will give you all the basic skills you need to build a website for a small business or organization.
Begin building sites immediately while setting a firm foundation for a lifetime of maturing in the web design profession.
- Our class An Introduction to Web Page Design will give you the basic coding you need to create and troubleshoot your own sites.
- Mobile Layout with CSS will give you command of Cascading Style Sheets to create pages that shift shape for mobile devices while also controlling typography, design, and layout.
- Our Adobe Dreamweaver class is not just a class in how to use this leading software to build sites more quickly. It shows you how to interview a client, plan a site, and charge for your services as an independent designer.
- Our Web Graphics with Photoshop zeros in on the features you’ll need in every Website: banners, backgrounds, buttons, photo collages, sprites, and animations.
- In Building Websites with Free Content Management Systems you'll learn how to choose, install, and customize free systems like Wordpress, Joomla, and Drupal and learn how to choose which system best meets your clients needs.
- Web Design Studio Lab pulls it all together. You'll work on a real world project and complete a site of your own design that lets you practice all the skills learned in this program.
This program will make it possible for you to skip the beginner level and go right to intermediate by using free designs and systems that are already fully tested. This permits you to get your feet wet while producing fairly sophisticated sites.
- Not artistic? We’ll show you how simplicity can be your secret weapon for producing designs that look like you’ve been to art school.
- Not a programmer type? Our class Building Web Sites with Free Content Management Systems will show you how to install interactive features like blogs, forms, news alerts, photo galleries, product catalogs, even shopping carts without having to learn the programming languages these systems are built with.
If you’re the kind of person who likes to jump in and experiment, this program will fast track you to be ready to sell your first site—or land your first job as a web designer.
You must successfully complete all courses in the table above to receive a program certificate. Individual classes may be taken without pursuing the program certificate, and individual class certificates will be awarded. All classes in this program may not be offered every semester. It is recommended but not required that courses be taken in the order listed above.
