How to contribute to the Sun Day

Below are the means by which we accept submissions so that you can maximize the Sun Day as a resource to your community.

You’re Invited
This section was created for events and activities that are open to the entire community, regardless of who is hosting the event. Email submissions to youreinvited@mysundaynews.com.

Partner Up
This is a section where residents can request a "partner" for an activity or assistance. We will occasionally accept standard classified ads as well, space limiting. Email submissions to partnerup@mysundaynews.com.

Please limit submissions to You’re Invited and Partner Up to a basic description of the Who/What/Where/When/Why/and Hows.

Resident Reporter
We can't cover all events, so we created the Resident Reporter, a section where community members can “report” on a recent event they attended or a happening that occurred that they would like to share with the community. Occasionally, we will accept a “preview” story for an event that has not yet occurred. 1st or 3rd person narrative accounts are what we are looking for (I, We, He, She, They), along with entertaining writing and a snapshot (when applicable). Please limit to 200-300 words, and include your full name, along with captions for the photographs submitted. Email submissions to residentreporter@mysundaynews.com.

Scrapbook
Do you have a photo you’d like to be Scrapbooked? Please accompany the snapshots with your name and a brief description of the person, place, or event photographed. You may also include a brief write-up (~10 words) about your experience at the event. Occasionally we will profile photos submitted for other sections in the Scrapbook, as well. Email submissions to extras@mysundaynews.com.

Club, Neighborhood, and Special Interest Group Submissions
We want to have the chance to report on all Club, Neighborhood, and Special Interest Group events and activities. We also want everyone to have the opportunity to see their activities and events profiled in depth in the Sun Day. Each week, we have a limited amount of space to profile these in News Quicks, in addition to the feature stories that we run. We generally take submissions for News Quicks on a first-come, first-serve basis, trying our best to match the event to the appropriate edition. As the paper grows in size, we will be able to accommodate even more of these activities and events. Special sections devoted to each are in the works, and we hope that soon you will see more space devoted to your Club, Neighborhood, and Special Interest Group. But for now, please submit all press releases and story ideas to mycommunity@mysundaynews.com.

Other Story Ideas/Press Releases, Recipes, Poetry, Artwork, Jokes
We value your contributions and want to ensure that all community members have the opportunity to have the Sun Day feature what interests them most. Please send your other ideas, press releases, and submissions to extras@mysundaynews.com.

To submit for both a story idea and a You’re Invited, News Quick, or other section, please make mention that you are submitting for both and send to all appropriate email addresses where applicable.

We will occasionally edit submissions for clarity, grammar, length, and content. All photos and artwork submitted must be at least 200 dpi at an image size no less than 5” x 6”.

The submission deadline for all categories is the Saturday before publication. All submissions run for one edition. We ask that you make mention or resubmit if you would like your submission to run for more than one edition, space limiting. You may also mail to the PO Box address listed on pg. 2 of the Sun Day.

Thank you all for your wonderful ideas and contributions. Please keep them coming!
