God said to the angels- I have put on earth ambassadors. They said would You put on earth those who would transgress and spill blood while we praise You and sanctify You? He said I know what you do not know.
وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةِ إِنِّى جَاعِلٌ۬ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ خَلِيفَةً۬ۖ قَالُوٓاْ أَتَجۡعَلُ فِيہَا مَن يُفۡسِدُ فِيہَا وَيَسۡفِكُ ٱلدِّمَآءَ وَنَحۡنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمۡدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَۖ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَعۡلَمُ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
AlBaqara 29
It comes to me now that when the angels questioned God’s decree, He told them “I know what you do not know.” In that is a deep secret. The angels were not aware of the sirr Allah placed in us. The angels are made of light. There, is no flesh. There, is no choice. With flesh and choice comes soul- the spirit God blew into us. This is the great secret. There is always balance in the creation of God. The angels are balanced in their perfect light- they have not all the knowledge. We are perfect in our balance between flesh and divine spirit.
“I know what you do not know.” There is something good in us. God believes in us. He put Good in us. “I know what you do not know.” If we align ourselves with this goodness that dwells within us….we honor the trust God gave us, a trust He gave to us and NOT the angels.
I am certain this is old news to most of you. Alhmdulilah. I have so much to learn. I am reveling in this right now.

Ashura was upon us and now has passed into the night of the 11th. The white days of Muharram are close. Fasting these days is sweet. And I mean actual sweetness of the mouth. It is physical. Taste it! Let us pray that we attain and never lose the pleasure and the presence of God in our lives so that we may honor His trust.
