About Us

Team Oregon is an AAU basketball program made up of some of the top high school
basketball players in the state of Oregon coached by Steve Garrity. 2009 was our first year as a team and we enjoyed great success. Team Oregon will have 1 team in 2010 and will start right after the HS season ends. We will have open tryouts and will most likely only carry 8-10 players. We will play in several local tourney's here in the NW including trips to LA and Las Vegas in the month of July. Call Steve Garrity at (503) 875 8281 with questions.

2009 We enjoyed a 28-8 record and played in many tournaments and got some fantastic exposure from many colleges and univerities. AJ Freeman, (Chemekata cc) Cameron McCarfrey(augustina D-ll), Ben Olayinka (Bowden), and Kyle Rose (BYU) all class of 2009 are playing college basketball. We were competitive throughout the year and the individuals all improved a great deal. We beat several top teams in the region including beating the highly touted I-5 elite, with several D1 players.

Our purpose and emphasis is two-fold:

  • Individual skill development
  • Exposure of players to college coaches and programs.

Proper skill development will help ensure that each player has the best chance of reaching his potential. Training and practices will be with that goal in mind. We commit to helping each player reach their potential through proper fundamentals and basketball knowledge. AAU basketball is about individual players getting exposed to college basketball programs. We are committed to our players to help assist them in the recruiting process by playing in AAU tournaments and being an advocate for each player. Our contacts with college coaches and programs run deep and we are anxious to help in the overall recruiting process. We will play in as many tournaments as possible and will be traveling Las Vegas, LA, Seattle, etc. and will also play in the local tournaments as well. We wish to work closely and in a positive way with other quality AAU programs in the area. We will practice several times per week and open tryouts will be held. (TBA). We will start in March as soon as the high school basketball season ends. It is important that our program operates in a safe, ethical and properly supervised setting. We will expect each player on the team to conduct themselves with gratitude and humility and come to practice ready to work and improve.
