What does the June Astrology Forecast hold in store for your Sun or Rising sign?

June Astrology Forecast:
This Month’s Planetary Movements

Faster-Moving Planets

What a great month it is for Geminis! Not only is it your birthday month, but your ruler Mercury is traveling direct (ie. forward) and fast in his own sign, which is YOUR sign. When Venus joins the fun it’s definitely party time!

By June, the fast-moving quality of spring has definitely started slowing down. Earlier in the spring, all the outer planets (Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Chiron, Saturn, Jupiter) were traveling direct, ie. moving forwards, not backwards. But in May, Pluto went retrograde, and Saturn also goes retrograde on June 29th. This means that big projects that you started in the spring had a lot of space and freedom to move forward quickly and smoothly, without obstructions or big messes that would result in a two-steps-forward, one-step-back experience.

But now, that situation is changing and projects you start now are likely to face some obstacles you couldn’t have foreseen when you began. This isn’t a reason to avoid starting projects altogether–just be aware that you should build in some slack for the messes that will inevitably occur. And as we move on into the summer and fall, this situation will reach a pinnacle in the autumn, where projects begun at that point will face maximum obstacles and frustrations. So if you have a big project in mind (starting a business, erecting a building, home remodel, etc), start it SOON, before more obstacles begin to appear. Or wait until next spring when all the outer planets will once again be moving forward and at speed.

A gathering of planets in Gemini in the first half of June brings attention and energy to the domain of communication. This can really amp up your social life and also improve your interactions at work. It can be a great time for writing, thinking, learning and researching. Any of these kinds of projects will be benefitted.

Mercury enters Gemini early in the month, and on June 4 conjuncts Jupiter, itself newly in Gemini. If you’re a writer, this can give you a burst of energy and confidence, supporting your articulation, mental acuity and expression of your true Voice. Mercury is moving direct and fast, and quickly heads into Cancer on June 17. There he will slow down the mental pace, add emotional warmth and make intuitive mental leaps possible. Read about Greater Epiphany Day in the “Mercury Watch” section below.

On June 4, Venus brings us a “Relationship Rapture Day,” when she conjuncts the Sun while moving direct and fast. This is a feel-good day that happens about every year and a half, so spend it wisely. It’s a great day for beginning a new relationship or meeting someone who will become important to you. It’s also great for beginning a new phase of a relationship that’s already underway. Spend it with people you love or who you’d like to know better. Later in the month, on June 16, Venus moves on into Cancer, bringing her charm and relatability to the domestic sphere, and making Cancerians more attractive as the Goddess of Beauty moves through their Sun sign.

The June 6th New Moon in Gemini combines with Venus to bring sweet, romantic vibes and a festive mood. It comes close on the heels of Relationship Rapture Day and is a great time for a first date, singles mixer, or even a work event where you network or connect with colleagues. On June 21, the Full Moon in Capricorn also features a connection to Venus, but is more targeted to bring good connections in a work context.

Mars continues in Aries until June 8, so use the first week of the month to make the decisions and take the actions that will move events along at speed. When Mars moves into Taurus, the Warrior’s energy becomes sluggish, but also patient and resolute. In Taurus, Mars is the Finisher, so it’s a great time to close and complete projects that have been dragging on. Aries people can especially make use of this persistent Mars, which remains in Taurus for the rest of June. On June 11, Mars comes into a stressful square with Pluto, which can stir up an instinctive drive to pit your will against an obstacle and win no matter what. Consider the possible costs and factor in the needs of others before taking action.

When the Sun moves into Cancer, the vibe shifts from Gemini’s love of stimulation to Cancer’s domestic coziness. At this point, Venus and Mercury have already arrived in the sign of the Homebody, so it’s a great time for enjoying time at home and with family. See the “Sun Seasons” section below.

Juno (asteroid goddess of marriage and committed partnerships of all kinds) continues speeding along through Virgo, great news for relationships to proceed at a good clip. If you had any big relationship issues in the first quarter of this year, Juno Retrograde was probably why, and you can find out more about it in our Juno Retrograde in Virgo video. But suffice it to say that any acute difficulties are over and whatever state your relationship is in now will likely become the new normal.

Ceres continues on her retrograde journey through Capricorn, with a focus on business, career, excellence and reputation. Don’t be surprised if a mess emerges in your financial life, requiring a more organized approach. Financial retrospection is never fun, but this one promises to bring good results to those who apply themselves. More about this in our “Ceres Retrograde in Capricorn” video, further down this page.

Slower-Moving Planets

During 2024, Uranus is in Taurus, Neptune is in Pisces and Chiron is in Aries–exactly as they were in 2021, 2022, and 2023. However, in 2023, Saturn moved into Pisces, and Pluto moved into Aquarius. Jupiter is moving into Gemini in 2024. The video below explains what it means when a planet spends many years traveling through a sign (we call them “planetary eras”). Additionally, it summarizes where all of the heavy-hitting, slow-moving planets are in 2024.

This year, Jupiter will square Saturn and also sextile Chiron. This will allow for some powerful growth and evolution for you if you have planets in 12º – 19º of any Mutable sign (Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces, Virgo) or if you have a planet in Aries and being aspected by Chiron in 2023 or 2024 (that means, a planet in 17º – 21º of Aries). The video below shows you these aspects in motion and tells you how they will feel, and gives you important dates when the most potent events are likely to occur.

For historical context of what has changed since 2020, our videos and blog posts about Saturn in Aquarius, Jupiter in Pisces, Jupiter in Aries, and Jupiter in Taurus will bring you current. For more about Outer Planetary Movements in 2024, read on through the end of our astrology forecast.

June Astrology Forecast: Jupiter Enters Gemini

Jupiter changes signs about once every year and a half. Given that, Jupiter’s ingress into Gemini is a relatively temporary shift compared to Pluto’s monumental change. However, it marks a new mini-era nonetheless. Jupiter in Gemini will bring expansion in the realm of learning, writing, information, journalism, and media. Additionally, Jupiter in Gemini brings a joy in the beauty of language and communication, as well as an interest in the diversity of experience.

Interestingly, Jupiter is in detriment in Gemini, as the expansiveness of Jupiter struggles with the minute detail of Gemini. Therefore, wordiness and an overwhelm of information may also be present. Watch our video about this:

June Astrology Forecast: Ceres Retrograde in Capricorn

Ceres governs how we do good stewardship of our body, manage our money and build wealth. This year Ceres goes retrograde in Capricorn on May 14th.. What does this mean? It’s time to reevaluate how you eat, your health habits and your finances. Read the  blogpost to discover what you should do while Ceres is retrograde and what dates will hold special meaning.

June Astrology Forecast: Mercury Watch

Mercury starts the month direct in Taurus and traveling fast, helping projects move along with speed and clarity. On June 3, Mercury conjoins Jupiter in Gemini, bringing the ability to think big-picture and on the level of details simultaneously. Mercury in Gemini enhances the ability to think abstractly and communicate eloquently. You may find yourself especially social, curious, and witty at this time. On June 14, Mercury catches up with the Sun on Greater Epiphany Day. This day is a natural peak on a wave: breakthroughs are possible, new understandings emerge and mental clarity and focus are at their height. To surf this wave and take advantage of its rhythm, set up your current projects so that a peak in mental clarity that day would be advantageous and well-timed for you. Mercury Retrogrades of 2024

In April we had the first of 2024’s three Mercury Retrograde periods (they happen every 4 months). Read more about it in the full blogpost, and watch the video below for the big picture of all 3 Mercury Retrograde periods of 2024.

June Astrology Forecast: Sun Seasons

Spring comes to a close in the sign of Gemini, (May 20-June 20). Wish your Gemini friends a happy birthday in flowery terms: words, language and communication are of utmost interest to a Gemini. For some Geminis this takes the form of highly intellectual pursuits; for others it simply means they talk your ear off because they think with their mouths. Mutable Gemini loves a change of pace—take a weekend trip while the Sun is still in this sign.

Through the month of Gemini, the light will grow stronger until it peaks on the first day of summer, which marks the beginning of Cancer (June 20-July 22). At summer solstice the warmth penetrates our bodies, heating and relaxing us. From here until the winter solstice, the days will grow shorter as Nature brings forth her fruits, reminding us of the abundance that is our birthright on this garden planet. Slow down and relax into this delicious season.

Is your birthday coming up?

If your birthday is coming, you’ll want your annual birthday reading (called a “Solar Return” reading) to happen in the month before your birthday–because your birthday is your Personal New Year. It’s the best time for setting resolutions, intentions and new life-directions. Get yourself in alignment with what your Greater Self wants for you this year, beginning with knowing what the plan is.

Long-Term Shifts in 2024

Beyond the monthly changes of our astrology forecast, 2024 brings some major long-term shifts to our collective consciousness. Most of these changes are occurring due to outer planetary ingresses into new signs. Usually outer planets shift signs gradually. First they begin their preliminary steps into the new sign. Then they backtrack into the former one, and so on and so forth until the planet is solidly within the next sign. Naturally, these times of transition feature elements of both signs, and highlight the zodiac’s conceptually developmental nature from Aries to Pisces. Planets undergoing shifts into a new sign this year include Pluto and Jupiter, as well as the nodal axis of Eclipses. Read on for a bit about each transition.

Pluto Enters Aquarius

The most significant transition awaiting us in 2024 is Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius. That’s because Pluto is the slowest moving planet, and has been in Capricorn for the past 15 or so years. Plainly, Pluto’s transit through Capricorn has been a time of serious dismantling and unearthing of toxicity and corruption in mainstream power. Pluto first entered the fixed air sign Aquarius on March 23, 2023. In 2024, Pluto will continue its slow transition into Aquarius, as it retrogrades back in Capricorn to wrap up Capricorn themes, and then back into Aquarius again.

Pluto in Aquarius will reveal and transform toxic material in the realm of politics, humanitarianism, social justice, science, technology, social media, and the internet. Similarly to how Pluto’s transit through Capricorn revealed Capricornian shadow themes, Pluto’s transit through Aquarius will highlight the dark side of Aquarius.

For a more in-depth look at this significant collective shift, read our blogpost here: Pluto in Aquarius 2023-2044: A Transformation of Ideals.

Jupiter Enters Gemini

Watch for our video about this coming in June.
