The Australian Federal Government has purchased some vaccine for persons at high risk of Q Fever. This is a national program and not limited to any state.

When AMIC contacted on 26 June 2009, the position of AMIC was as follows:

"The Federal Department of Health and Ageing and the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries have not yet released information regarding the free vaccine program, which is supposed to start next Wednesday 1st July. It seems that it is being delayed due to doctor training for swine flu. In the meantime I will keep you informed of anything I hear."
