DISA Chief Information Officer Recognizes Quotient Team Member with the All Star of the Quarter Award

 

FALLS CHURCH, VA, July 22, 2010—Robert Bixby, a Quotient Information Assurance (IA) Engineer supporting the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), was awarded the DISA CIO All Star for the 3rd Quarter of 2010 for his outstanding IA initiative and professionalism.

Mr. Bixby has been supporting the DISA IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM) Team, the DISA CIO, and the DISA Designated Accrediting Authority (DAA), ensuring the management of IAVM notifications to the Agency, including training, tracking, adjudication, reporting, and IAVM program compliance enforcement and execution on behalf of DISA DAA.

“Mr. Bixby is the key reason DISA has consistently achieved DOD IAVM program compliance for the last 14 consecutive months, which is a first in DISA’s IAVM history,” stated the letter of commendation. “He is always ready to further refine existing processes, educate and guide both staff and Agency IA personnel, and is always the first person to volunteer his time to ensure DISA meets all IAVM program requirements. As a result, DISA’s IAVM program has been revered as the program to emulate by many in DOD.”

The letter also cited a recent CYBERCOM POA&M (Plan of Action and Milestone) Migration compliance day where Mr. Bixby encounter a compliance issue and took action to resolve the issue that day, avoiding DISA being put on the CYBERCOM watch list. “Without hesitation, Mr. Bixby took action to resolve the issue and worked the problem until it was resolved right before midnight that day to ensure DISA was IAVM compliant before the day officially ended. Mr. Bixby's outstanding achievements, dependability, proactive approach, dedication, and personal commitment reflect great credit upon the Department of Defense, the Defense Information Systems Agency, the office of the CIO, and the DISA Computer Network Defense Branch.”
