it's the simple things. a collection of friday favorites.

Today for Friday Favorites
I'm going to share with you different words
describing some of my fave moments from the week.
 Enjoy!!

friday favorite things | finding joy

Humbled.
Watching Samuel put ornaments on the tree
knowing that last year he just rested on the couch.
As I pulled out my unsorted ornaments I remembered
that they were quickly shoved away because he was so sick.
Now, this year, he was simply joyful as he peeked at each ornament.

Yummy.
Is a perfect word to describe
the seasoned nuts that Chloe and Hannah have been making.
I probably should include the word calories
but they're nuts, and that's healthy, right?

Laughter.
I got this wonderful candle for my home
and my fabulous {and very funny} husband
decided to rename it and wait for me to discover it.
I know we'll laugh about this for years to come.

Scented.
Balsam fills my home.
From the tree to that
wonderful  {and now funny named} candle.

Patience.
I've found myself short-tempered this week
Partially due to my slower moving arm
{and while I type this very sore arm}
but also because I lose my focus on the real important.
So, yes I have, I've been praying for patience.

Grateful.
The number of people that
read my letter to Samuel
 with regards to Celiac Disease
humbles me.
I am grateful to bring awareness.

Tinsel.
We've been so blessed by our
Truth in the Tinsel book.
{that's an affiliate link.for a great product}
The ornaments the kids have made are so cute
and more than that they're learning truth.
{and sigh, yes, Eli's Mary looks like she might be a bit crabby}

Quiet.
My early morning drives to physical therapy
has me winding through the countryside
watching the sun come over the horizon.
I love these moments of peace.
I stopped on that back road so I could snap this pic to share.

Surprised.
Last night I made cookies
and my Caleb walked in and stated
hmm...much obliged if I had a cookie?
Oh, my, I love that boy of mine!
What six year old says much obliged?
He brings me joy.

I was wondering when the new button for the season would make its debut! I love it! Hannah did an amazing job, as always.

I love your picture of the pond. And I love that Caleb said "much obliged." It reminds me of the vocabularies my friend Tiffany's twin brothers have who are about the same age.

I know I say this all of the time but I really enjoy how you capture the moments. You bring them to life and I can just see the excitement on Samuel's face this year. Those nuts look so yummy and totally healthy :)
