All Modems have different settings but I have done this configuration for BSNL and Airtel modems successfully. There was not much of a difference.
Here I m giving the procedure for Airtel modem.
Type in browser default gateway address(type in cmd,ipconfig).eg.192.168.1.1/main.html
it will ask for username–type admin(majority has this only)
password–type password(or admin or anyother default …ask the concerned person).
Here is the list for default username, passwords of common routers
Now navigate to virtual server as shown here. Now click on add,and enter details as here(here server ip address is internal ip address),Save,Apply.

This is accessed in Beetel Modem at
Advanced Setup>NAT>Virtual Servers
This is actually port forwarding so that the incoming requests which arrive at your router at a specific port gets forwarded to a specified private/internal IP address so that any daemon running on that system binded on that specific port can accept the incoming connection

Hey I want to use my system as a server and want to direct port to my system behind the NAT. Like dynamicIP:port should direct incoming connection to my system. How can I do that? I know it can be done through Virtual Server through the router but this option is not available in NETGEAR WGR614 router. Please guide to set this.
Waiting from a early reply.
So the field that asks for ‘Server IP Address’ is where you put the internal IP address of your PC/PS3/XBOX, not your router, right?
