Paul Evan Hughes is the seven-time Independent Publisher Book Award-winning writer and executive editor of Silverthought Press. His work includes the experimental speculative/transgressive novels Enemy, An End, and Broken: A Plague Journal, the short fiction collection Certain Devastations, and the upcoming horror novel The Mills. He lives in Evans Mills, NY with his wife and two sons.

Mark R. Brand is the short fiction editor of Silverthought Press. His books include Red Ivy Afternoon (2006), Life After Sleep (2011), The Damnation of Memory (2011), and the upcoming collection Long Live Us (2013). He edited the Silverthought short fiction collection Thank You, Death Robot in 2009, which won a Silver medal in the 2009 Independent Publisher Book Awards and was named Favorite by a Chicago Author by the Chicago Tribune. He was listed as "One of Five Indie Writers and Publishers to Watch" in 2012 by CBS Chicago and he is the creator and host of Breakfast With the Author. He holds a Master's in Writing & Publishing from DePaul University and he is currently attending the University of Wisconsin for his PhD in English.

Silverthought Press takes on a publishing intern approximately every two years. These internships typically last three months and include hands-on participation in every level of editing, publishing, promotion, and administration. Our past interns have gone on to great things, and our most recent intern, 2010's Traci Kim, is now managing editor of Concepcion Books.
