Refuse a Shipment

I received a shipment today and it does not belong to me.
I received a shipment today and I did not order this item.
The driver delivered this package to my house but this is not my address.

These are some of the common issues we hear about from our customers. There are four ways of refusing a UPS shipment.

1) Call 1-800-PICK-UPS and schedule a pickup at your home.

2) Give the package back to YOUR driver (if you see him or her every day). It has to be scanned by YOUR driver in their dyad (computer board they use for your signature and to scan the packages as they are delivered or picked up). Your driver will get it back to the sender.

3) Bring the package to a local UPS hub facility or customer counter. They will handle the return for you.

4) Pay to have the package sent back. You can visit any The UPS Store to arrange for this return.

It may be frustrating to bring a refused package into a The UPS Store location only to hear these four options, but The UPS Store cannot get the package back to your driver. If we take the package, it ends up on your door the very next day.

So, visit your local The UPS Store to handle all of your shipping needs, but use one of the listed tips to get a refused package back to the sender!

You may want to note that UPS changed their refusal policy and it must be called in within 5 days of delivery or you will have to go through the original shipper for return shipment labels.
