I have recently purchased a RRA LAR-15 Elite CAR A4. Not only for hunting varmint and shooting for fun, but also for home defense.

First lets go over what it comes with.

1. Comes with a detachable A2 carry handle.  Has the elevation and windage on the back site as well as a 300 and 600 yard flip site.  With the detachable handle on the top it makes it very easy to take off and put on a scope or a EOTECH holographic sight or whatever you may prefer.
2. It comes with the hogue grip already placed on it.  This grip is very soft and comfortable and feels like you could hold on to the rifle all day.  With the finger slots molded in the grip, you get a comfortable feel and a sturdy grip.
3. Has the 6 position stock.  This makes it nice if you are doing drills while clearing houses and moving fast, because you can put the stock at the shortest setting and go for it. If you are shooting at a distance, you can pull the stock out to the farthest setting for more stability while shooting and intern, give you better accuracy.
4. It has a 16″ chrome lined barrel.  I like the length of the barrel because of the aspect of being a home defense gun as well as a gun for hunting.  With the short barrel, if you are using it purely for home defense purposes, it has a less likely chance of hitting against door jams, walls, etc. Mix that with the six position stock and you have yourself a perfect home defense gun.  It is very easy to move about house smoothly and effectively.  You may think that with a shorter barrel you will be limited on accuracy at a distance, you won’t! I went shooting and was hitting accurately and consistently on target at a range of 500yds, making this lethal for any unsuspecting coyotes that think they are out of harms way.
5. It also comes with 1- 30 round metal magazine. I was impressed with this magazine, because it has a no-tilt follower and it is actually made out of metal, not some cheap plastic that will break after many uses.

They are also plenty of accessories  that you can get for this gun since AR-15’s are one of the most customizable guns on the market today. Scopes, rail systems, flash suppressors, stocks, and slings are available.  The options for this gun are endless. Tomorrow I will talk about great add-ons to this gun and good sites to get them from and the prices.

After shooting the gun and putting about 200 rounds down the barrel I am absolutely confident that this gun with perform time in and time out.  I would recommend  a River Rock Arms to anybody that is looking for a good assault rifle for a decent price.
