chapter 5 questions

•Five” — Chapter Five tells of Enrique’s life, waiting to cross the border into the United States. Enrique has lost his mother’s phone number on his trip, so he must make money to call Honduras to get the number from relatives. Enrique also needs money to pay for help in crossing the border safely.
1. How does Enrique make money to buy a phone card?

Chapter 5 questions


1. Enrique was earning money by washing cars across the street from a taco shop.
2. Enrique has to call Honduras first because he lost the number of his mother so he has to call his grandma to get her number.
3. in this chapter there was around 6 people involved and they help him put because the would talk about there situations.
4.Uncoupled- to release a cart from a train.
The train had to UNCOPLED the other car because it was hauling to much weight.
Aroma- A smell
My mothers cooking leaves a great AROMA in the house.
Route- a course in which they follow.
The buses have to be on the same ROUTE everyday.
Recalls- To remember something.
I have to RECALL the events I did.
Boxcars- another car that Is connected to a train.
Many immigrants hide in the BOXCARS.

4. Enriques friends, his customers, and padre le are some of the peaple in thiss chaptor.
5. Smuggler= person to sneak peaple or drugs across the border.
Watch out that guy is a drug smuggler.
Deported= To get kicked out of a country. The illegal immagrants got deported.
Inspect= to look at or study. The guy inspected the dvd for scracthes.
occasionally= sometimes My brother takes showers ocasionally.
Usher= aperson who shows you where to go= the man ushered me to my seat.
