chapter 6 questions
“Six” — Chapter Six tells the end of Enrique’s trek. He enters the United States and reunites with his mother. Chapter Six also continues the story of Enrique’s relationship with his girlfriend in Honduras, Maria Isabel. Maria Isabel gives birth to a daughter, but Enrique realizes that he cannot yet bring Maria Isabel or the baby to the U.S.

Enrique was reunited with his mother on may 28.
Enrique unites with his mother in North Carolina.
Enrique has a baby girl on her way.
Enrique is very brave on the river because he doesn’t even know how to swim but he still went through the river.
Enrique's final journey was to transfer to his stepdads car on the other side of the border.
When Enrique meets with his mother, a couple weeks later they begin to fight. This doesn’t surprise e because a lot of normal families fight.

Another significant event that happens to Enrique that same year is, he gets news from his girlfriend that he has a baby on its way.
When Enrique was on the bravo Grande river, it was like if he didn’t survive through all those obstacles he wouldn’t make it to his mother. He had to go through a cold river knowing he cant swim soak and wet.
Enrique's final journey to the U.S is very hard and stressful to him because there were parts were he felt like running away from the coyotes, and where he was very stressed.
When Enrique meets with his mother, a couple weeks later they begin to argue. Enrique doesn’t believe that he didn’t have to listen to his mother because she didn’t raise him. Later in the book they make up and everything is fine. These problems didn’t surprise me because all families argue, and I can imagine why he thought he didn’t have to listen to her.

3.On November 2, 2000 his girlfriend gives birth to his daughter and Enrique becomes a father.
4.Enrique's life on his side of the river is not good because he has two left shoes and he doesn’t eat much. On the other side he buys new clothes, shoes and food.
5.On Enrique’s final journey he crosses the Rio Grande and he meets his moms boyfriend and he takes him to North Carolina.
6.When Enrique reunites with his mother he starts to say a lot of profanity and his mother doesn’t like it and they both start to argue and Enrique leaves and then he comes back and apologizes and she accepts. The problems didn't surprise me because those are just regular arguments.
7.The clash culminates several weeks after Enrique arrives, when Maria Isabel telephones collect and her call is rejected because some of the immigrants in the trailer do not know who she is. I had an argument and then a few days later we culminate the argument.
Enrique and his mother are conciliatory at last. After the argument me and my brother conciliated.
But with each passing day, his resentment grows. When me and my brother argued my resentment grew more.
