TDT was established by Jim and Lois Vining in September of 1982. Jim and Lois are
both graduates of Stephen F. Austin State University located in Nacogdoches, Texas.
They met while going to school and fell in love with East Texas. Jim graduated with
a degree in Forestry while Lois earned her degree in Education.
Upon leaving Nacogdoches to find work in their perspective fields, they vowed that
they would return to East Texas some day. Sure enough after their first child was
born they made their way back to East Texas, making their home in Jacksonville.
They went to work for United Forces owned by Jim's dad, who was one of the first
independent yellow page publishers in the industry.
Shortly thereafter Jim & Lois formed their own business, Telephone Directory of
Texas, their first book being the Athens-Henderson County Directory, delivered in
July, 1983. Thanks to all of the wonderful people in East Texas and all the terrific
sales representatives and employees that Jim & Lois have had the pleasure of working
with for the last 25 years, their business has grown to 10 directories now covering
most of East Texas. Tony, Ryan and Zac, their three sons, are now an integral part
of the company.
Thank you East Texas for a wonderful place to raise our three boys. And thank all
of you business owners for giving us the opportunity to help you make your businesses

reaches all of your potential customers.
