Margaret Louise (Cashel) Phelan, age 93 passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton, ND Margaret Cashel was born August 17, 1918 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late John L and Kathleen (O'Connor) Cashel. She grew up and graduated from Grafton High School. With a degree from UND, Grand Forks, ND she taught schools in Crystal and Grafton, ND and Breckenridge, MN. Over the years she was employed by United Airlines, Los Angeles, CA; The Dayton Co, Minneapolis, MN and the Squire Shop in Grafton, ND. She was united in marriage to Francis J. Phelan in Minneapolis, MN on Dec. 30, 1952 at St. Olaf's Catholic Church. The couple later made their home in Grafton. She was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church and Altar Society, Fine Arts Club, La Boheme Club, and Grafton Golfers. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia B. Phelan, North Port, FL; granddaughter: Christina Maria Wiley, Swampscott, MA; grandson; John Edward Wiley, Ossipee, NH; nephews: William and John "Jack" Cashel, California, niece, Mary Jo (Cashel) Casalino and her two sons: Michael and Ryan Casalino, New York. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother John M. Cashel. Memorial services will be Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton.
