Set Google Chrome Default search to google.com

Google Chrome 7.0.517.44, RockmeIt 0.8.34.841

To set the Google Chrome default search to google.com (English), rather than the google page of  the country you happen to be searching from:

  1. Right Click the Address Bar and select “Edit search engines…”
  2. Click “Add…”
  3. Enter any Name
  4. Enter any Keyword
  5. Enter URL
  6. http://www.google.com/search?{google:RLZ}{google:acceptedSuggestion}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}sourceid=chrome&ie={inputEncoding}&q=%s

  7. Click OK and Make Default.

    This is SO useful when you leave in Japan because even if you set google.com as your standard google it always gets too smart and link you with google.jp.ac…!
