How to Apply

TRLA's general legal aid services cover civil matters such as consumer fraud, housing foreclosure, family law issues, and tenant-landlord conflicts. To qualify for our services, you must meet the income, asset, and immigration requirements established by the U.S. Congress, the Texas Legislature, and other funding sources. The guidelines are complicated, but intake workers at our Telephone Access to Justice (TAJ) hotline (833) 329-8752 can help you through the application process. The hotline takes calls Monday - Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. central standard time. Please call (833) 329-8752 for help.

Online Screening Form for Education Issues

Please keep in mind that an online application is only the first step in the intake process and doesn't mean you're eligible for TRLA legal services. We will review your information and contact you if it appears you meet the eligibility requirements. Because of our limited resources, we may not be able to contact for a week or two.
