        Drumkit Hire

        Pearl Reference drum kit

Pearl market this drum kit as using the “Best of Masterworks” shell materials, hence the wood of the drums is carefully chosen according to the tom or drum size and characteristics wanted for that specific drum.

          • Rack tom sizes 10 & 12.
          • Size 14 tom (fits on snare stand).
          • Floor toms size 16.
          • 22-inch kick drum.
          • 14-inch all maple 22-ply Reference Snare with stand.
          • Beautiful scarlet fade.
          • 4 boom stands.
          • 1 hi-hat stand.
          • 1 kick pedal.
          • Drum stool.
          • Sounds great live or recorded.

The secret of the Reference Kit is the amount of research that has gone into making it. The wood of the drums is carefully chosen according to the tom or drum size and characteristics wanted for that specific drum. This is no ordinary drum kit – when it’s properly tuned, it’s a reference for what other drum kits should sound like!

Gretsch Renown (All Maple) drum kit

          • Rack tom sizes 10 & 12.
          • Floor tom sizes 14.
          • 22-inch kick drum.
          • 14×5 inch snare with stand.
          • 4 boom stands.
          • hi-hat stand.
          • 1 kick pedal.
          • Drum stool.
          • Cobalt fade.

The Gretsch Renown Maple is one of my favourites kits for recording in the studio. As a sound engineer I prefer the sound of these to the DW collector series maple, it has thicker shells and therefore a warmer, deeper tone.

All kits come with standard with the toms that are on separate stands to the bass drum (isolation) and 3 to 4 cymbals stands, a drum seat/throne, hi-hat standsnare stand and kick pedal if necessary.

          Cymbal Hire

Anatolian Cymbals are hand hammered and created in an Istanbul factory in Turkey. The cymbals have engraved markings in the same spot as the Istanbul and Alchemy Cymbals and have many similar characteristics to these whilst also having their own character. They are sold mainly in Europe as up-market cymbals – because they are hand hammered, each cymbal has its own distinct flavour.

          Set 1 – Anatolian Cymbals:

              • 1 set of Anatolian Ultimate Series 14-inch hi-hats.

              • Anatolian Kappadokia Series 16-inch crash.

              • The Anatolian Baris Series 18-inch power crash.

              • Signature Series Anatolian “Bertram Engel” 20-inch ride.

              • 1 Anatolian Ultimate Series 22-inch ride (optional replacement).

            Set 2 – Zildjian cymbals:

                • 1 set of 14-inch Zildjian A Custom hi-hats.

                • 16-inch Zildjian A Custom crash.

                • 18-inch Zildjian A Custom crash.

                • A 21-inch Zildjian A Custom Ride.

              Hire a Snare drum:

                  • Pearl Reference snare.

                  • Gretsch Renown snare.

                Electric Drum Kit Hire

What is band backline, and why should I rent if from the Rock Factory?

What is band backline hire equipment?

Backline equipment is the gear that musicians use during a performance. This includes equipment like guitar amplifiers, bass rigs, keyboards and drums, as well as percussion instruments and other accessories.

Why hire backline for your event?

It enhances the sound and overall production of a performance. Having professional industry standard, and reliable backline equipment ensures that the instruments sound their best, which helps the musicians give a better performance and this helps create a memorable experience for the audience.

When bands are touring, they can’t always bring their backline with them from overseas, so they need to source it at the gig’s location. Sometimes bands want to hire top-of-the-line professional backline for recording singles or albums in the studio.

When you have many bands playing on the same stage at a festival or gig, having a shared backline improves the whole event, speeding up changeovers and making sure the output on-stage is consistent and professional sounding.

What backline is available to hire from The Rock Factory?

Examples of typical items included in backline that we hire out at The Rock Factory are: Pearl, DW and Gretsch drum kits with kick pedals and cymbal stands, percussion such as congas, toms, and bongos. Also, guitar amps such as Fender and Vox combos, Marshall stacks or Mesa boogie heads and cabinets.

Bass options include Ampeg or Mark bass heads, and finally, we also hire keyboards, including Roland, Nord, Korg or Hammond models with stands and stools. We also have Ziljian and Anatolian Cymbals and step-down transformers.

Renting backline equipment is easy, contact us at The Rock Factory and specify your needs, and arrange for pickup or delivery. Factors to consider when choosing a rental company include price, reliability, and quality of the backline equipment.

If you are a touring musician, band, gig or festival organiser or a promotor, you can choose the specific pieces of equipment needed for each performance. Plus, you don’t have to worry about maintenance, carrying it on a plane, or storage.

Why hire backline instead of using the bands Own gear?

Backline equipment is crucial for any band or musical performance. Hiring backline equipmentn rental is a smart choice, offering flexibility and peace of mind. We hope you will choose The Rock Factory as your backline rental partner.

Save time and frustration when you are running a gig or concert by having the bands share a set of professional band backline hire instead of swapping around all their gear between different band sets. By hiring in band gear including hire guitar amplifiers, hire drums and quality keyboards you will have the added bonus that the backline you rent from us is high-end, professional-quality gear that is most likely better than what the band could bring themselves. This allows for higher quality sound in general at the event because the backline equipment is the industry standard for a reason. If the microphones are picking up a good sound everything is better therefore overall things will sound better… good quality in = good quality out!
