JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES

The time has come to be alone
In the friendly place where dreams have flown
Closed eyes and a warm red fire
The noisy world must now retire

Drifting to a lush green island
In the middle of the deep blue sea
Lying alone upon the shore
The waves gently wash my feet

I feel the breeze caress my skin
As I watch the birds gliding in
I float on a cloud that passes above
And rest in the arms of nature’s love
You are the island, you are the fire
You have the choice if you desire
You are the ocean, the sunny day
Just close your eyes and drift away

When I close my eyes and visit there
I find a treasure I can share
My heart is freed from built-up grief
And opened again in welcome relief

So now I return with a smile to give
To a life that’s not so hard to live
My world seems a bit more smoothly arranged
But I know it’s actually me that changed

You are the island, you are the fire
You have the choice if you desire
You are the ocean, the sunny day
Just close your eyes and drift away
