I love oysters and the oyster omelette is my go to. Old style cafe with harbor views. Been here several times and will continue to frequent.

I'm almost reluctant to share this hidden treasure, but it's too good to keep to myself. Tucked away beside the familiar Chinook's, Bay Cafe is an absolute delight for a memorable breakfast or lunch experience.

On our recent visit, we ordered the Croque Monsieur and the California Omelette. Both dishes were excellent- delicious, perfectly prepared, and generously filled with quality ingredients. And if you think we stopped there, think again! We couldn't resist the biscuits and gravy, and to top it all off, we treated ourselves to a cinnamon roll for dessert.

However, what truly set our experience apart was the warm welcome from Patrick, the cafe's exceptional host. Without even requesting, he intuitively seated us by the window, offering a splendid view to accompany our meal. Patrick's genuine care for his guests and his dedication to his role was evident. He ensured we were comfortable, promptly attended to our beverage needs, and made our visit truly special.

Parking was a breeze, the views were breathtaking, and to top it all off, the prices were surprisingly reasonable. If you haven't discovered Bay Cafe yet, you're in for a treat. Highly recommended!

This diner a real one, that's what I say. Indeed, indeed, Bay Cafe is a real one. Unassuming, delicious, like a bit of the east coast.

Great food at a beautiful location. My husband had the chicken fried steak and he said it was the best he has ever had. My sandwhich was great and very fresh bread. Yummy! Sorry we ate it so fast we didn't take a picture. Service was fantastic!

My friend and I have eaten here for breakfast twice, and both times we left happy and satisfied. Both times were during a peak breakfast time with no wait and satisfactory service (along with speed). Amazing natural light throughout the restaurant, as well as a fantastic view of the bay no matter where you're seating. We will continue to come back and have been wanting to try other options here than just their breakfast.

Location location location, dockside, on a sunny day. Best thing for me here was the service, kinda old school in a balanced way. Never had an oyster omelet before--probably been decades since any omelet in a restaurant--and this was quite fine, egg perfectly done, small oyster pieces with cheddar, spinach, tomato, green onions. Got hollandaise on side as I may have never had it, but it was yummy and i smeared it all all over. the potatoes crispy but ordinary. my biscuit was an english muffin, more white bready than any other english muffin id had. randy yummed up is biscuits, gravy, bacon etc.

I've been coming here for years and it continues to be one of my favorites. Friendly staff, delicious food, and with a great view of the water, this place really is a gem.

I usually swing by for brunch. Most days it is bustling with customers and the staff are all zipping by.

They have a pork chop special and a NY Steak special, from time to time. They also have seafood like snapper, crab Benedict, and some other options if you're into that. They are close to the docks so it's all fresh.

Prices can be a bit up but honestly not out of line for Seattle and they have good portion sizes. With that, I can see how they've stayed in business so long.

They have a large menu and the space feels like an old school diner with the teal and purple seating. There's not a lot of dust up above so I feel like it's clean too. You see a lot of the same staff but they rotate areas and days so it seems like they hire a lot of people, who've all been there for a long time too. They are only open until 2p, so it's a great little spot to stop in for breakfast, lunch, or a $6.50 mimosa.

      Updated review

Well it's been about 8 years since my last review and I no longer live in the neighborhood, but on a recent visit to Seattle, my husband and I were excited to grab breakfast at an old favorite. Bay Cafe did not disappoint and still lived up to our memories.

Bay Cafe does a great job incorporating seafood into delicious breakfast dishes. I had the smoked salmon scramble and my husband had a special that was a fresh fish benedict. As usual, the staff was friendly, the coffee was flowing, and the views are amazing.

It's nice to know that sometimes you can go home and that, in an ever-changing city, some of your old favorites are still there waiting for you.

The smoked salmon omelette and hash browns were tasty, served with a warm biscuit and strawberry jam. I also had a large satisfying orange juice and green tea with lemon. For a generous portion of food, friendly and efficient service, in a no frills atmosphere, I'd recommend this place. (They also found me a seat near an outlet so I could charge my phone. And they have WiFi!) The seafood is fresh since the restaurant is on the bay and you get to boat and bird watch. My ticket was $38.04 before tipping.
