DIRTY & FEISTY - allow me to explain...Nenna, sexy bartender, was so feisty and cat-like, hissing putdowns and teases. If that's not enough, she makes the dirtiest martinis EVER - so darn good. She's definitely my kind of feline.
The red lit bar, adorned a little extra during the holidays, is quite gorgeous. Red is my favorite color when I oil paint, buy artwork, and even decorate in my own place. So, I just love it even more than most.
At Happy Hour, the food is 50% off, and the drinks are at a discount. I shared several items with my buddy Tony, and have to say that they make their Fried Pickles absolutely PERFECT. Not greasy, perfectly breaded, and crispy. I dream of them. Also tried their BLT and their spinach artichoke dip -- mmmmmmmm.
The place has flat screens all-around to watching games, good for an after-work thing, a romantic enough for a date. Red abounds.
Nearly every night of the week, jazz -- live music. Check the calendar or call for details on who, and what time, is scheduled.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jul 6, 2012
This place is kinda weird. From the area and outside you think it's something cool inside but once you get inside you see a bar and tables and 2 booth. Not much other than their weird frogs hanging above you.
No hostess I guess since it was 1:00pm. They just tell you to sit anywhere. The table we picked had no napkin or utensils. Waiters was nice for the most part of seeing her. Other than that who knows cause he only came back twice and one was to tell us we were good. Don't need a receipt unless we need it for our own purpose. OK let me back up the reason why she said that was because we had a groupon for 2 burgers and 2 soda.
So OK now let's move it forward to what we can order on that groupon. Yes 2 burgers which they ONLY have 2 burgers 1. Mushroom with Swiss 2. Blue cheese bacon. WOW!! Maybe I should have checked their menu before buying the groupon but I only did it cause my friend worked close by. So you know what each of is ordered one of each. Dah!! Oh yeah comes with fries.
So She took our drinks my friend ordered coffee instead big mistake when we got it. Cold ass F! And then we had to wait 15 mins for them to brew another fresh one. So what the hell you would give cold ass coffee? Shouldn't you know that your coffee is cold if no one has gotten coffee all morning.. Ugh hello.
So I personally don't know if I would come back here to eat maybe drink but if there is only one waitress no thank you.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 13, 2012
Got the groupon for 2 burgers and 2 drinks for $10. It says it was worth $35 but during lunch the burgers were only $7 so they did some false advertising there.
Service was great. We were told to seat ourselves since we were the first ones in. We chose to sit outside on the fabulous zebra print seats and we were checked on a decent amount.
I got the turkey burger and my BF got the Angus burger. Both were great and came with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The waiter also offered us ranch when he brought our dishes out. The ranch seemed to be made from scratch and I wasn't a fan. It was a little too creamy for me. The sweet potato fries were done perfectly.
The groupon was a great deal and we'll be back if we ever spot it on groupon again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephy S.San Francisco, CA497826081081Nov 30, 2006
Ahhh yes Lucy's 51, the 818 bar that makes you happy you live in the Valley!
Finally checked this place out after driving by it for the last few months and I couldn't have been happier to spend an evening here. First off, the bartender, Moses, is just the cat's pajamas. He is New York to a T as Antonio described and one of those guys that completely dials in on you and only you when he is talking to you and makes you feel like the most important person in the world. That in and of itself would be cool, but then throw in any one of his 51 martinis and um, yeah you pretty much had me at...

Even my hangover thanks them this morning :)
They also serve food here and have a pretty cool menu from what it seemed. Most notably is the "Of Course We Got Cesar" Salad and the bacon wrapped shrimp. I mean come on, how do you go wrong with bacon?
What I think really sold me on the bar is the fun decor fused with the perfect balance of friendly attitude in a fun kinda NY sense and it's humble clientele. I feel like anyone could walk in here and have a great time. There are no too cool for school hurdles you have to cross and the drinks are fantastic and delish. So in my book, it's a definite new fave.
Go check em out and say hi to Moses for me :)Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - Mike L.Norwalk, CA88010094082Feb 16, 2007
What can I say about a place that I needed assistance of two people to point me to the restroom? Yes...they served very strong drinks!
I had a great time at the Yelp party. And all the Yelpers are very cool, fun, and very down to earth. Epic party as is, I will save all the stories at the talk thread and concentrate on the place itself for the review.
Many ahead of me have pointed out the decor and ambiance of the place. Very hip and total laid back (minus the Yelp crowd for the night). I actually did scope the place before our event a week earlier just to get an idea on how this place would be like.
Without the huge crowd, this place had a soothing feeling to it and also dim enough for that relaxing atmosphere in the front lounge area. On the back, there's plenty of tables to order meals.
I had to give them a lot of credit for putting up great service throughout the night and my previous visit before. They are very attentive and very friendly. At first, it seemed like they're disorganized at the bar, but then I realized there were 40 people coming in at the same time all looking for the free appletini or cosmo drinks. They actually did the multitasking very well at that time. They gotten a lot more smoother as the event went on.
Our server at the table I was with, was very punctual with the drinks. At first it didn't seemed like it, but just like a stealthy ninja, the drinks appeared right before our eyes! Amazing...who knew ninjas are good at a vocation?
Overall, it was a great venue for any type of party or event. This place definitely live up to its hype. If I came here twice, I probably would go back again for those deadly knocked out drinks.
*Oh yeah, for the people I cut in line in the restroom, I do sincerely apologized as I didn't know it was only one person for each restroom. I badly assumed people were lounging at the back hall. Sorry about that.
To Maria G., almost stiffed you by leaving you to pay for my drinks. I'll definitely buy you and Aimee S. a drink next time. Won't be that forgetful next time either.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Cheri A.Los Angeles, CA122315844242Feb 17, 2007
Lucy's 51 but she acts like she's 21. Grow Up it's embarrassing!
Came here for my 1st Yelp Elite. Cool bohemian type decor a small bar/restaurant but very cozy. It make you feel at home the minute you walk in. The Yelptinis were fantastic and they made you super thirsty I noticed because I kept drinking them and my thirst was never quenched. The lady bartenders were all so nice and they knew how to make a perfect Yeptini.
The lines to the ladies room were long and I actually...know...someone...that used the mens room..."they told me they were very clean." If I find myself in Toluca Lake I will go back.
Oh yeah Carson Daly was there and I told my SO and he said "who is Carson Daly." :)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Ti M.Jacksonville, FL770685149Feb 5, 2007
So far so good...
I went here yesterday with the hottest chick ever!! My new BFF! I ordered my usually let's fen off the tiredness and get drunk long island ice tea...it was good. Not as much of a punch that I prefer.
The servers were cool, the owner a doll (I just wanted to squeeze him), and the atmosphere was crowded with football fans! hm..not my thing.
The only reason I wanted the Colts to win was to stab the wounds of all the Patriots fans that give me hell. :)
Anyways, so the barbecue looked amazing, smelled amazing, and I smelled like it for awhile.
The bar is so long and spacious and they have those awesome hooks under the bar for the purses, who thought of that. I totally love it.
Overall, this place gets 4 stars, but I had to add an extra star for the soap opera stars that I spotted yesterday. You know that feeling of...who is that...I know that face...and you just can't pinpoint it, until...okay...yeah, that is the dude from Passions. lol...don't ask how I know.

Not sure what this place is, neighborhood bar, hang out, nice thumping beat in the back round. The waitresses are sexy as hell. I had to meet a friend here before going to dinner and the vodka tonic's where strong and cold.
I liked the dingy atmosphere, all type seem to frequent this bar and the decor is interesting and unique.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Caroline Y.Santa Clarita, CA602599105Feb 17, 2007
Everything else besides the crab cakes were great. Dude! What was up with those crab cakes? Blagh~! It was like baby food.
Anyway~~drunk yelpers are always fun. Free booze is always good. Free yelp sticks, yelp filers and t-shirts are always appreciated. I really liked the ambience...really red, chill and loungey. The service was just decent but the servers were super duper nice. I'm sure those servers tried their best to cope with all the drunk yelpers. Haha! I met a lot of nice people in line for the ladies room. There was even a guy yelper entertaining the ladies in line for the ladies room. His name...Jonathan ?. Can't remember the last name initial. He was cool. Parking was easy to find. Overall, very fun yelp event with very fun people. Until next time folks~!!
Edit 08/27/2007: So I went back to use my $100 gift certificate and it was as awesome as I remembered it. But this time around...there were no free drinks...instead we went the opposite route and ordered the most expensive bottle of wine on the menu ($130)...refer to pics. We also ordered the 5 cheese plate. The wine and cheeses were wonderful along with the service. For our final drink...we ordered the "High roller martini"...it's a fun concept...you get a martini and dice...you roll the dice and if you roll a 5 and a 1...you get another martini for $0.51. We didn't get it...booo~!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Lillian M.Los Angeles, CA233171172Nov 16, 2012
I've only been here a couple of times, but was invited to meet a friend for drinks, live music and appetizers.
They had they most amazing blues musicians and singers that night! Several people showed up to "sit it". The music was more than worth my while to go and I had a scallop appetizer that was so------------ delicious. Large, fresh, lightly seared scallops with pico de gallo. Wow!
They had a full dinner menu, but I went late (10:30 p.m.) and didn't want anything to heavy. I will definitely go back and give some of their other menu items a try.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
