Not what I was expecting, but they work...
At this price I wasn't expecting much, but like others have said, the actual glasses don't match the picture provided by the vendor. I would hope Amazon would have a policy on posting an accurate product picture. Please see the picture uploaded of the actual product. In terms of 3D they do work, however the design is flat [vs. curved] and may allow light in from the side. Turning off near-by lighting seemed to help.Would I buy again or recommend: No

I got these when mom accidentally threw out the kids paper glasses.

The paper glasses are a novelty. They don't fit. They let ambient light in. The quality of the lenses is poor and easily made worse.

The Polar Express 3D Glasses offer an exceptional Red/Blue 3-D viewing experience. They are very comfortable. They block Ambient light and the lenses are excellent quality.

Criticisms that I have read on Amazon that are silly.

"They are dark." OF course the image is darker, your looking through color glasses. IT's simple turn up the brightness on your TV when you watch 3D movies. While you're at it, adjust the contrast. IT's super easy and will give you a much better viewing experience.

"They didn't work with all the movies I have." How is that this products fault? There are different, 3D
Formats. Color formats include red/magenta, and red/cyan. Then newest technology is polarized and gives the most accurate colors in a 3D experience. Blaming the glasses for not working with a different format movie is hardly the fault of the glasses.

"Not as Shown." Mine were exactly as pictured.

"They are kids sized." They fit my oversized head comfortably.

UGH!

I hoped for more with this product. My kids have the books that you need 3D glasses for. These are just as flimsy and cheap as the ones that came with the book. The rims are plastic and more sturdy than the paper ones. I would not buy this again. A waste of money.

This is not one of the best 3d glasses we find now a days but if you see the price for 3 set less then 2$, you will definitely will think to try this. I watched my Avatar 3D movie with this glasses, it was really impressive at some areas, but at many places the difference was clearly visible and many lost colors. Need to see the movie in a very very dark area and not a single light source from any where apart from your video player screen. Also the size of glasses is a bit small then average glass size and hence you feel some time uncomfortable wearing it for long term. But it is way better then the paper glasses I had earlier. Overall average deal for video lovers and good deal who are looking for cheaper option.

I couldn't get this to work with the very DVD this is supposed to work with but my kid is enjoying it. So it could be my prescription eye glasses that is in the way. Also, the effect seems to be even less when viewed with upscaling by a Panasonic Blue-ray player. (Again, my kid told me that was not the case.)

The glasses are well built, though. Sturdy and light weighted.

I purchased these mainly for gaming on my computer via nVidia, and since the standard 3D is too expensive i decided to set it up for anaglyph experience. To do this, you must be on Windows Vista or 7 as the drivers don't work with XP, and they should install with the graphics driver automatically upon downloading via website (3d drivers are updated regularly, don't use a CD). You go to a start menu icon under "nVidia" and click to setup 3d vision. Click to setup with the Discover glasses, as these will work flawlessly as a discover replacement and are much more durable! Once the 3d vision is setup, open a game and it should be working and have information for setting up the game for maximum effect. So far, i've player Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike: Source, Far Cry 2 (excellent performance) and am going to try Just Cause 2 and Mafia II as soon as possible. I've also tried Minecraft, as it has a built-in anaglyph setting already. So far, Minecraft and CS are the only games bothering me, as the crosshair is NOT in 3d, thus makes it almost impossible to shoot in CS and CSS, but all the others it is in 3d and easy to see. Also, it takes about a minute to adjust your eyes to the layers but once you have it down, you're all set.

Durability:
Very durable, much better than the cardboard glasses and costs less too!

Value:
You get 3 good quality glasses for under 5 bucks, what's not good about that?

Size:
Some people have been stating that these are "too small" but they fit perfectly over my italian head ;) I will make a review as soon as possible. They also fit perfectly over 3 of my other friends heads.

Be sure to buy more of these than you need. The plastic frames are fragile and cheap. One pair broke when I went to put them on. They snapped at the top of the cyan eye side. Then when I tried to carefully take them off, they snapped completely in half. Fortunately the other 2 pairs are still in one piece. I do not recommend these to small children or adults that don't know their own strength.

The Pros?
First, they are inexpensive. (You get what you pay for however.)
Second, they are very comfortable and work well with my 47" LCD HD TV. I'm not sure how well they'll work on a SD or any other screen. You can see more comfortably with these than the paper ones with tiny rectangle lenses. Even after watching the Avengers (over 2 hours long) my nose and ears felt fine.

Just for the fragility of the glasses, I cannot recommend these unless you can be extremely careful (I thought I was being careful.) and know how to use superglue to put them back together (which will fix them). I would not buy these again and have found a better pair (different style) from a Hong Kong store on Amazon.

Very disappointed in these glasses which I only bought because I figured they'd be more comfortable than the cheap cardboard ones I had that came with a Kino Anaglyphic 3-D blu ray I bought. Well the cheap cardboard ones might be a bit uncomfortable on the nose but they work perfectly whereas these cheap plastic ones leave plenty of greens and reds on the screen, meaning they produce only a partial, flawed "3-D." effect. In short, don't waste your money, you won't be using it.
