Alexandra may take a little getting used to, but this Russian phenomenon is great. I had the best bikini wax there! She uses organic wax, even offers a numbing spray to curb the pain (and thank god she does) and the table you lay on even has a heating pad!

It's close to my work downtown so I decided to give her a try. It's an old building and her hours are by appointment only most of the time, but she's very accomodating. It's just a tiny little room, so um, it's pretty intimate--but considering what you're getting done, it's not likely you'll be hiding anywhere, heh.

Alexandra is amazing! She is highly trained (lots of certificates from Europe), provides very personal service, and is totally professional. She make you feel very comfortable (cute little towel skirt!) and she is truly dedicated to her field.

She walks through personalized skin treatments (does facials too) and I had virtually no irritation after my wax.

It's cash only, so be forewarned, but I think it's an investment and I'll be going back!

Alexandra is fantastic. She uses the best products for all of her services and you can tell that she actually cares about the quality of her work. She is a true aesthetician and I would trust her with any treatment, waxing or tinting that you need done.

Cash only though, so you actually have to wait until payday instead of using the old credit card. But she's worth the wait!

I have been coming to Alexandra for over 3 years now. She is a truly caring individual and, I can't reiterate this enough, very highly skilled and knowledgeable professional. There is simply no one out there who comes even close to Alexandra's thoroughness, whether it's a wax or a facial. I've tried a number of high-end spas here in the city, including Radiance, Burke Williams, Cocoon. No other spa has thus far delivered the quality and lasting results that you get with Alexandra.

I'll give you a couple of examples:

BRAZILIAN WAX:

- Alexandra - hair grows back after 5 weeks because she uses high quality wax and makes sure to pull all the hairs out with the root. Done

- Others - hair grows back after 2 weeks because they may not use high quality wax and speed through the waxing, breaking many hairs at the skin which just causes them to continue growing. My waxes everywhere else take like 15 minutes - that's great n' all - but only if you want to keep coming back every 2 weeks.


FACIALS:
Alexandra has done wonders with my problem skin. She has has recommended a number of customized treatments and also educated me about products and nutrition, which revolutionized the way i take care of myself. She offers a treatments that are carefully selected specifically for your skin type and issues, often spending extra time on you if something requires extra attention.

So the bottom line - Alexandra is THOROUGH, THOROUGH, THOROUGH - and with her skills - there's simply no one that does it better.

I had an appointment with Alexandra and the day of the appointment I go to the "advanced skin care clinic" which is really just a room in a run down building off of union square. The door was locked and she was not there. I took a cab to the appointment because I thought I would be late otherwise. I knocked a few times and waited, and she never came. I called her and turns out she couldn't make my appointment and wanted to move it to later. I had planned my day around this appointment and needless to say it was beyond frustrating.

She may be a great waxer, but I don't know because she no showed me to my own appointment. I ended up finding Bhavna at Cinta Salon and she gave me the best Brazilian I have ever had!

alexandra set the standard for brazillian waxing for me before I moved from the bay area to new york city. i've searched up and down manhattan (and brooklyn) and have not found any a better treatment than alexandra's. alexandra is thorough yet gentle, personable yet professional. she uses best wax at the right temperature--other places use stuff that not only irritated my not-so-sensitive skin, but failed to leave the same supple softness of what alexandra uses. i've already booked my next appointment for when i back in the bay area for xmas time. also, to be precise, she accepts checks, as well as cash. the numbing spray is great, but you might not even need it, given her expertise. east or west, alexandra is best

Alexandra gave me a wonderful facial including some special serums that I don't know what they were, but my face glowed for a few days. I bought a bunch of facial products, and it was pricey, but I have been using them so they are not just sitting on the shelf.

Alexandra is the best kept secret in San Francisco! Her techniques are amazing when it comes to waxing. She is a real expert and I highly recommend her services. In the past I have always gone to Marilyn Jaegar Skin Care in Presidio Heights. They do a good job there, but Alexandra is far better and her price point is great too. If you are looking for someone to do a Brazilian or just simple maintenance waxing for your bikini area or eyebrows she is your gal! Also, I have to mention that she is a true artist when it comes to eyebrows. She is incredible! Here I think I only need just a couple hairs plucked, but after spending over half an hour on my eyebrows alone then I see the work she has done and they are gorgeous each and every time. Completely even and perfectly shaped. If you go to here once, you will be hooked! I also want to mention that when you simply google her and look at the reviews on yelp it only shows 6 reviews, but if you scroll down to the bottom it show 18 reviews that have been filtered. Click on that "18 reviews" and it will show you even more of the fantastic reviews for her. Personally, I think all these reviews should be listed without having to press this filter button, but with technology today I guess you have to click to see them. One more thing, Alexandra is always on time and great with returning calls super quickly when you need to make an appointment. Just this week she called me to check in and set up an appointment. Alexandra is very professional and very on top of things. She is a real pro and I highly recommend Advanced Skin Care!
