Look I still hold fast to the don’t speak ill of the dead and if you can’t say anything nice… I don’t like putting out that kind of negative energy about someone I don’t know and had no impact on my life. I do hope the families that he did impact can now have a sense of closure and peace.
Today he would be a candidate for President.

She is experiencing what many other college student experience.she is looking for “thee” job not any job and it takes times. She will be just fine!😌
You are what you think and speak. Be careful with that.😬
You are not broke, don’t you dare claim that. You are what you believe! You are “JUST” in between blessings. Gotta give “GOD” more credit than that!
I can not relate to being blessed to go to an HBCU. But after I was done at college, I went a year not finding a job, in the field of study I graduated with. What I did do, was volunteer work for 2 to 3 days a week. I also worked a fast food job to have some money. Within 6 months, I got a job I liked. Make sure to keep networking, and register as alumni at your school. Reach out to the school career center for advice, and to the leaders in your old clubs you were involved in. But definitely look into volunteering in an organization or company in your field. Join a grad chapter of a sorority. Even in my little city, I seen organizations that are for young professionals to be a part of; don’t give up!! You are never alone!! Good luck!!
I respect her for sharing her story because I read the title I knew the flood of criticism was coming 😅😂. I think the bigger picture is that she’s in search of a community outside of her comfort zone. I think she believed the job market wouldn’t be easy to navigate because most of us including myself are struggling with that too, but the sense of and knowledge that she had community support like she did in college kept her going. Anyone that’s been to any college has to have experienced that(Hopefully). Post grad life especially when you’re not living within your safety net(Moving back home or In the Same town that you graduated from) it’s a huge reset socially.
Lonelier than ever. Might be time to find a church or or something else to be a part of
I hope she finds the best job fit for her life and purpose. That unfortunately, could sometimes take years. Some seasons of life are truly meant for separation and focus. I went through something similar and afterwards, I wish that I had waited and been more careful, with the friends I did choose in my search for community post college.😔 You can always make your skillset work for you, by working in household staffing and hospitality especially with your degree. You can work as a household manager or a junior personal assistant, which comes with benefits excellent pay and temporary housing etc. Those jobs can be found through household staffing agencies like the Nanny League etc.
I have 1 Associates, 1 Bachelors, 2 Masters a mountain of student loans and a underpaid job at 56. I know how she feels. Degrees really mean nothing because companies won't hire you due to being "over qualified."
Is she jobless because she has a degree in English and not some other discipline where there’s a demand for graduates? I always am amazed that liberal arts students often wonder why they come out of college and can’t find a job but they pile up massive debt. You really have to think about your options when you’re in high school and not wait until you graduate with a degree that’s essentially just a piece of paper.
This is a different market... never went to an HBCU, but I had a lot of job options to choose from before I graduated. My whole senior year was all about securing the bag.
If you don’t get traction with internships during undergrad, you’re screwed. I heard hbcu’s had a very high employment rate but I guess they’re struggling like the pwi’s. Hang in there hun!
I’m glad for the most part you had a great college experience. 1 thing you need to understand since graduating is the fact you may not get the career you studied for immediately. Try to find a career making at least 50,000 and make sure it’s something you can do. While working there continue to apply for the careers you actually want. It’s a hustle out here and you have to know how to play the game. Don’t let experience deter you from a job apply anyways. Your experience was the 4-5 years obtaining your degree. Don’t stop at applying for 3 jobs a week and giving up. Apply to as many as you can daily. You have plenty of time to do this. The companies you want to work for find out their pattern for putting out new jobs. It’s usually on a Tuesday. Finally, don’t limit yourself to linkin and indeed. Go directly to their main site. Scroll down to careers and apply. You’ll find that most jobs don’t post on other sites.
I understand that you miss your friends, but more importantly, what is your purpose? Do you have one? It can’t be tied to your friends. What was your degree in? Sounds almost like your happiness and financial success was tied to your friend. Are you happy with your degree, because as far as your friends, y’all could always form a girls trip. You seem like a smart beautiful black sister, your happiness shouldn’t be aligned or dependent on anyone else. I think you need to find yourself, your passions, and your happiness.
She could find a job somewhere if she really looked. Sometimes you have to crawl before walking.
She's saying that she's broke with no job after college but still not saying what she was majoring in for her not to get a job in her career.
If you were prepared well, and I trust you were, you should be ready to take on the world, not retreat to the bubble... #HBCUPride (NCCU'88) Go get 'em!
What happened to her network?
My daughter experienced the same as far as missing her college family post graduation luckily she is able to travel and spend time with them
Isn't networking and making lifelong friends part of the college experience? Was she anti-social for 4-years? What was her major? Her placement in her graduating class? Counselors didn't help her with resume creation and potential job prospects during her senior year?
Where’s your husband?
Hang in there. God is with u. listen to the higher vibration, God will lead to the next level. Peace & Love.
Hang in there. You are stronger than you think. Maintain friendships and relationships, that can take you a long way.
Guess college didn't work for you or you missed an important lesson..
In my hometown of Duval County, FL, she what we would describe as "shot out".

‘Dirty Debutantes’ Article About LSU Women’s Basketball Team Deemed Racist
An L.A. Times writer called the UCLA women’s basketball team “America’s sweethearts.” He referred to LSU players as “basketball villains” and “dirty debutantes.”9 CommentsComment on Facebook
We win too much. That is why they hate us.
We excel too often. We overcome always. And still we rise.
All these young ladies loves the game of basketball. Ppl are turning in to see all this talent. But, guess what? Misery has found it’s way with nasty and vile comments and articles. Let us pray that these young ladies become great as they are.🎉🎉🎉🎉
"Bolch cited an example of Angel Reese, a star on the LSU squad, waving goodbye to a player on the opposing team who’d fouled out in an earlier round of the tournament. Trash talking isn’t uncommon in college sports. But when Reese, a Black woman who is affectionately known as ‘Bayou Barbie,’ behaves in the exact same ways as white student-athletes like University of Iowa’s top player Caitlin Clark, she’s deemed classless. I highlighted these specific differences in a Forbes article following last year’s national championship game in which the Tigers defeated the Hawkeyes 102-85..........While both are racially diverse, LSU has more Black women on its team than does UCLA. This is what makes Bolch’s comparison of the two squads especially problematic – the predominantly Black team is comprised of villains, the one with fewer Black women is made up of angelic sweethearts.......Who plays on these teams matters, but so too do the locations of the two universities. UCLA is nestled between Beverly Hills and Bel Air – specifically, it’s in Westwood, which is 90% white. LSU is in Baton Rouge, which is 37% white and 53% Black. Three percent of UCLA’s undergraduates are Black, compared to 17% at LSU. According to his online bio, Bolch has worked for the Times since 1999, mostly as the UCLA beat writer. Surely, he’s been on the Westwood campus lots of times over the past 25 years and knows UCLA well. He’s likely not spent much time in Baton Rouge, though. There’s a chance that he doesn’t know Reese or her teammates well, if at all. Maybe he’s never met any of them.......Bolch’s article upholds longstanding racist tropes about Black people being thuggish; people from predominantly Black contexts being prone to misbehavior; and Black women, in particular, being threats to innocent, defenseless white women. Oddly, despite caricaturing Bayou Barbie as a classless bully, Bolch includes quotes from UCLA players Charisma Osborne and Lauren Betts who played with Reese on Team USA last summer. “She’s an amazing teammate and I really enjoyed playing with her,” Betts said. Similarly, Osborne noted, “she’s really nice off the court as well and people don’t always see that.” Again, Bolch presumably doesn’t know Reese, but he interviewed two UCLA players who do. So, why then, write such awful words about her and extend that mischaracterization to her LSU teammates?" ...... www.forbes.com/sites/shaunharper/2024/03/31/dirty-debutantes-and-other-racist-mischaracterization...
Leave those Women be with the vile piece trying to be thrown at them simply because they’re being the best them they can be. Salute to the team.
The more things change the more they stay the same. MY people are continually criticized for showing passion, or confidence in sports, it’s as if WE have to be quiet and just play basketball. The racist tropes are nothing new, years ago Don Imus called Rutgers women basketball players nappy headed whores. Now the “dirty debutants” is what a reporter from California newspaper is calling LSU, another racist trope. When folks talk like this they show you who they are, WE don’t give a flying fqck WE still going to keep doing what WE do
Fcuk what these devilz are saying. Next.
Kind of ironic that an article about the team is deemed racist and an attack on the black players when the coach herself is a staunch supporter of the biggest racist in America in Trump. The coach also refused to come to the aide many times of her Gay players especially Brittany Griner when she was in a Russian jail cause Trump loves Putin. For some reason the media gave her a pass with her handling of the Angel Reese situation earlier in the season when many were speculating why she was not with the team. There were rumors that had her being pregnant, and Mulkey was never forced to say why Reese was not with the team.

‘I Quit,’ Says Lizzo, Citing Online Criticism and Ridicule
The Grammy Award-winning singer said on Instagram that she was “starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”13 CommentsComment on Facebook
She doesn’t deserve unwarranted negative criticism …. But, at the same time she’s brought unwarranted attention to herself by the actions she’s displayed…. The first time i saw her perform was on one of those award shows where she gave an outstanding performance that left everyone in awe …to the point people where talking about her singing and playing her flute and didn’t even bring up her appearance. But it wasn’t until she thought it was a good idea to twerk damn near half naked at a Lakers game …to the point it made Kobe leave with his daughter (🙏🏾🕊️🕊️🙏🏾) and from that point on she created an avalanche… so now it’s becoming a bit too much for her to deal with.
Be a better person! It had nothing to do with who you were as much as how you treated those around you ! So if quitting is your easy way out then bye ✌🏽! Cover up while you are at it
There will ALWAYS be critics and naysayers throwing stones. You have to ignore them, and remain true to yourself. She's a very talented musician and entertainer who has become a role model for millions of young Women and girls. Typical for this generation. Quit. Need to bring dodge ball back and learn to deal with life and reality.
