SONC Again Asks City Council to Slow Down Rather Than Rush Items Through Without Public Input

With regard to CF 24-0465 / DONE General Manager Appointment, the Neighborhood Councils were again excluded from submitting input; this despite explicit direction from the mayor that neighborhood councils should be involved in the selection process. City Council should slow down and give ample time for public input, not speed up and pass things before affected parties have a chance to weigh in.

SONC Opposes Elimination of Faith Based Organization Date Regulations

The Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council (SONC) in a unanimous vote (16-0) adopted a position to oppose CF 23-0172; specifically, SONC opposes the removal of date of ownership criterion from the Faith Based Incentive Program in LA’s Housing Element.

SONC Supports VNYCAC's Budget Proposal for Van Nuys Airport (VNY)

The Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council (SONC) at its May 13, 2024 meeting voted unanimously (16-0) to adopt a motion to support the Van Nuys Airport Citizens Advisory Council (VNY CAC)’s comments regarding LAWA’s FY 2024-25 budget.
