Hurlbut Mural Project Opening Ceremony

Join us on Monday, May 6, for a commencement and reception to celebrate the opening of the Hurlbut Mural Project! In collaboration with the Dogra Art Foundation, MAG commissioned South Asian artist Avinash Kumar to paint our fifth mural in the Hurlbut Gallery.

Asian Pacific American Heritage Celebration Day

Enjoy free museum admission, community and cultural displays, live performances, music, art, and more at Asian Pacific American Heritage Celebration Day on Sunday, May 19! A Closing Ceremony celebrating the mural from South Asian artist Avinash Kumar in the Hurlbut Gallery, a collaboration between the Dogra Art Foundation and MAG, is also included in the day.

Wendy Red Star’s Bi’ nneete (No Water)

Bi’ nneete (No Water) is an installation of thirty original drawings forming a “corral” of horses, which hold significance in the Northern Plains Native history and cultures. Each horse is sketched from historical ledger drawings from museums and archives across the United States.
