OUTLAW SPEEDWAY LOSES MAY 10, 2024 EVENT TO RAIN AND COLD TEMPS

Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.

(Dundee, NY) With all the region enveloped in rain, cold temperatures and an even more gloomy forecast, Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri made the decision to throw in the towel early for Friday night, May 10. 2024 Mother’s Day Night Special at the track.

“All week the forecast did not look favorable for Friday, and we got the racing surface well sealed up to make sure if we did get a lot of precipitation that we would be ok.  With all the overnight rain we received Thursday into Friday and a not so favorable outlook for the rest of the day into Friday night its just best to make the call now and let everyone make dinner plans.” That according to Siri.

With the washout it has not been a particularly good start to the 2024 campaign for Outlaw Speedway as the facility lost their first two nights in April to rain and now this Friday which makes three out of five the track has bowed to Mother Nature.

“We got just one event in April and that was the Mike Jackson Memorial which was a particularly good night under cold and cloudy conditions. Last week the Roy Silvers, Season Point Opener was fantastic with a huge crowd, perfect weather conditions, a superb racing surface and an absolutely packed pit area with over 115 cars for 5 adult classes.  When it does not rain, we can hit it out of the park, but weather dictates everything in this business. “That once again to track owner, Tyler Siri.

Up next at Outlaw Speedway it is the greatly anticipated Thursday Night Thunder, Kubota High Limit 410 Sprint Car Series paying $12,000 to win and $1,200 to take the green flag.  Many of the top teams in the country will converge at Outlaw for this one-of-a-kind event.  In addition, the Friendly, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds will be on the card with the winner pocketing $4,000.

The entire twin bill program is sponsored by Wilbert’s and will be televised live on Flo Racing.

All ticket prices, gate and start times are posted at www./OutlawSpeedwayLLC/.

With a record crowd anticipated the Infield Fan Experience will be open allowing fans to go into the infield where food, beverages and restrooms are available on top of a totally different view of the Fast 4/10 of a mile clay oval,

Camping is free with plenty of free parking.

A pair of iced cold beer stations await parched fans with the Turn 4 Tavern located in the grandstands as well as the Outlaw Speedway Saloon pit side.

A slew of other concessions awaits hungry and thirsty racers all offering quality food and beverages all served fresh by an all new and friendly staff.

Celebrating sixty-seven years of great dirt track racing action, the Outlaw Speedway is located right in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York in Dundee.

Just a short drive from Seneca Falls, Geneva, Penn Yan, Waterloo, Warkins Glen, Elmira/Corning and Bath/Hammondsport.
