TastyFroyo is a result of my Android experience. It combines looks with functionality and performance. I'd dare to say that it brings the Hero back to life, but it's up to you to judge it.
MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR CPU FREQUENCIES AND GOVERNORS ON FIRST BOOT USING TASTYFROYO OC!!
ATTENTION: This ROM SHOULD NOT BE USED WITH ANY OTHER OVERCLOCKING APP(e.g: OC Widget, SetCPU).

TastyFroyo 1.2 Changelog:
- OpenGL 1.1
- notification bar widget settings added under Settings/Display
- TastyFroyo OC menu under Settings -> make sure you set those on your first boot!!
- 2.2.2 SMS app
- Android 2.2.2 Launcher2 instead of Modaco's backported GB launcher
- default CPU settings: ondemand 614/264 so that anyone can boot
Details:
- TastyFroyo screen for Hero - higher resolution effect, you have more space
- based on CyanogenMod 6.1
- Gingerbread Keyboard
- Miui Music player(credits: tazzpatriot)
- customized and optimized UI
- clean and efficient
- battery friendly
- RaKern-200 kernel @ 691/176 with dual-governor configuration enabled(see post #2 for instructions)
- no Facebook and Twitter apps included, so you can download the latest version from the market if you need them
- great bootanimation(credits aankun)
- EXT A2SD and Froyo A2SD, both working 100%
- 90 degrees accelerometer orientation only(sense-style)
- no ads in apps and on the web
EVERYTHING WORKS!
Instructions:
Download, wipe EVERYTHING and flash from Recovery. First boot should take less than 5 minutes.
ON YOUR FIRST BOOT GO TO: Settings/TastyFroyo OC and set up your preferences!
