Coldplay’s Chris Martin: ‘First song I wrote was about Sarah Ferguson’s tits’

Martin reveals debut song was a 'media savvy' effort inspired by Duchess Of York's breasts

Chris Martin has admitted to writing a song about the Duchess Of York, Sarah Ferguson’s breasts.

The Coldplay singer said the track was the first he ever wrote and described it as “media-savvy”.

In an interview with shock-jock Howard Stern on his Sirius XM radio show, Martin said: “I was 11. It was a terrible song about people being more obsessed with Sarah Ferguson’s tits than what was really happening in the world.

“It was quite a media-savvy song. I was very socially motivated at that age.”

Asked by Stern if he would ever go solo, Martin responded: “No way. No solo thing. No way.”

Coldplay’s fifth studio album ‘Mylo Xyloto’ was released in October and went straight to the top of the albums charts in both the UK and the US.

Martin recently claimed that he feels the world “f**king hates” Coldplay.
