I'm Canadian and have been married to a Chinese lady got two years. We got married and we now both live here. What is the procedure for me to qualify for a long term (5 year) permament visa if I plan to stay longer here? I have now been living here for more than four years.

 Answered by Mr.Charles
It is very difficult to get a permanent visa. Please read the Regulations on Permanent Residence of Aliens on the website https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/refusal.htm, then you know the regulations are so strict and rigorous.

Hi, I'm a US passport holder. My 1 year Chinese Visa will expire soon, but I need to stay longer for another five days. I don't think I'll have time to renew it prior to my trip.
So my question here is, can I extend or renew it while in Beijing? I thank you in advance for your prompt response.

 Answered by Mrs. Lorna(USA)
Yes, you can extend the duration of your visa at the Exit & Enter Department of Beijing Public Security Bureau before it expires.

I am a German passport holder with a working visa for Australia, wishing to travel soon - is it possible for me to obtain a visa from one of the consulates in Australia (or possibly new Zealand, as I may be traveling here in the next few months)?? Thanks :)

 Answered by Mr. Mac
Yes, you can apply from one Chinese consulate in Australia which is near to you because you hold Australian work visa which permits you stay in Australia for a long time. If you apply in New Zealand, you maybe can't get it because you just a temporary visitors to New Zealand. Please bear in mind that single entry tourist L is only valid for 3 months, please don't apply for it too early.

Asked by James Young from CAMBODIA | May. 23, 2024 23:13Reply
I am British live in cambodia
I want to travel through China by train Via Laos and out via Mongolia.
If I apply for a transit visa, how many days can I apply for and what documents do I need to show?
If I need to show a ticket of departure but I cannot book the China-Mongolia train online, could I buy a different exit ticket but still leave via Mongolia?

Yes, you are perfectly covered by the 24 or 144-hour visa free transit. If your stay is less than 24 hours, you will be covered by 24-hour visa-free transit; otherwise, by the 144-hour.

British citizen - Qingdao Layover
Hello,

I am travelling from London to Melboune, Australia and will be stopping in Qingdao for 6 hours - it is a self-transfer so I will need to go through customs and collect my luggage then go back through.
Both of my flights are with United Airlines and I am a British citizen with UK passport.
Will I qualify for TWOV? and is there anything I need to do before I get there or will it be clear what form to fill in once at customs?

thank you!!

Collecting Passports by Post for 2 passports - need one Xpresspost envelope or two?
If my spouse and I want to collect our passports by post, I know I need to provide an Xpresspost envelope for China Visa Centre.

Can we provide the centre with just one envelope for two passports or do we need to provide two envelopes?

I think you will need two as your visas may be issued on different days.

Travel Companion(s) - Section 6.6 - Who is consider companion?
I am travelling with a bunch of people, some are family members, i.e. spouse, aunt, uncle, cousin and friends.

There are like 18 of us travelling together (group tour).
The obvious one, which is my spouse which I know I need to add the information, but how about the others?

Companions refer to people traveling together with you. I think you don't need to name all the members, just your closest ones like your spouse.
