For your Throwback Thursday enjoyment…never forget this clip; a dildo (aka “The Billdo”) being thrown onto the field in Buffalo during Pats @ Bills, 2016. This is my favorite moment at the field now formerly known as New Era Field. And that includes a lot of touchdowns, and a lot of wins for Tom Brady, THE winningest QB in Buffalo while the stadium formerly known as “The Ralph”. That’s why with New Era getting out of their sponsorship deal with the Bills I say they rename it Sex Toy Stadium, or Brady Field. Both would be perfectly appropriate to me!

Maybe it was the “no live sports” or “quarantine mania” talking, but this was a lot of fun. First time I’d ever done play-by-play of a Madden game, or any video game or virtual action. And now I kinda get why people spend hours watching other people play games on Twitch or whatever platform. Surprisingly enjoyable. Then again this had some pretty high pretend stakes. Plus I had someone to do the game with. Not that Wiggs and I will be getting a call from ESPN anytime soon to take the MNF booth gig. Still, good times on a Tuesday night. Hope you enjoyed…now back to delusional thoughts about the 2020 season, Stidham’s development, his potential connection with Edelman (10:56 is the new time in New England, because it’s 4 to 11), and actually enjoying football in-person.

A few news stories, notes of interest and nuggets of nonsense to get your Monday started off on a foot. Not sure if it will be the right one. But hey, we’re off! And that Belichick cheat code story from Logan Ryan is fascinating…you’ll never be happier that people on the Pats found a way to work around but within the rules.
Patriots played a version of “You Can Only Pick 3” Wednesday; iconic Super Bowl plays. Which three could you not live without? The answer is all, obviously. But if I really had to just pick three it would be 1-5-7 here. It begins with Vnatieri’s GWFG in SB36. There’s no more iconic play in the NFL, in Super Bowls, in sports, than Butler’s interception in SB49. And while the argument can be made that Boomtower’s stripsack in SB51 was the turning point, fact remains Tom Brady can show off all his Super Bowl rings on only ONE hand if not for Edelman’s most improbable of catches. When that happened you knew they weren’t losing. You just knew.
1-5-7 for me. What say you?
Here’s some good news on a Wednesday. The hype and faith in Jarrett Stidham is building. Yes, it’s Pats news about someone who actually plays for the team these days! Given that the Pats didn’t drft a QB in 2020, and signed only Hoyer to likely be a backup, and with the way Belichick has talked up “Stid”, it appears as though #4 is a winner, if you will, before his first NFL start. He’s being given everything the Pats can provide for him to succeed. The question is…will he be bale to make good on his potential and all this belief? Remember where you were when you heard Brady was being suspended four games and the Pats fined a 1st round pick and a million bucks? Seems a steep price to pay, but when you think about everything that came from the football farce that was DeflateGate? How unified we became. How pissed off we were! “Free Brady!” to start the day to a friend or neighbor. An inspired and infiriated Brady out to prove every doubter and detractor wrong. All the coverage and content. Insane. An unforgettable time in our sports fan lives. So on the anniversary of the dumbest ruling ever in sports I offer that everything that went into DeflateGate was totally worth it.
